This was a delightful surprise...went to tour the Leanin' Tree Card factory and found that they also house a wonderful western art museum! The tour of the card factory was informative and entertaining. Great products! The museum was expansive and has something for everyone, paintings, sculpture, carvings, etc. A wonderful collection and more than you would expect from the outside!... More

I think this outstanding collection would be better served in a setting other than a greeting card warehouse in an industrial park, but it's a place I've taken many out of town visitors and love to keep going back to. The artwork ranges from the majestic to the comic to the bizarre - a horse sculpture made of welded junk.... More

This museum is far better than we expected it to be. There is a well presented collection of sculptures, and the paintings of the West are extensive and include some notable artists. The gift shop is very good - lots of Leanin' Tree greeting cards available. Combine this visit with the Celestial Tea factory tour almost adjacent. A nice prairie... More

I was dragged here, kicking and screaming the whole way, in my head at least. It's not that I'm not a big fan of western "art." Rather, I loathe it and don't consider it to be art. I endured it in silence. Next time I'm staying home.

The next time I'm anywhere near the area this is a 'not to be missed' visit. The amount of items on display is amazing in a lovely setting - FREE. Even if you think Western art is a miss, don't be fooled. The level of artistry is amazing, inside and out.

The Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art is a great accompaniment to the Celestial Seasonings Tea tour is you’re in Boulder for the day. The Museum has both an outdoor sculpture garden and indoor gallery of Western paintings, plus an extensive gift shop of Colorado products and on weekdays, there is a tour! You want to know the best part?... More

So much more incredible than I was expecting. We did a day trip to celestial seasonings and came here after lunch. There are some wall sized landscapes that will literally take your breath away, they truly capture that up on a rocky mountain, oh my god how beautiful, feelings you get from say driving through rocky mountain national park! Quirky... More

Leanin' tree is far more than the extremely creative and cool greeting cards that you have seen for many years. Gunbarrel is the home of the Leanin' Tree Art Gallery and it has fascinating Western Art. It is definitel worthy of your attention.

Whether you go on the tour or not, take some time to stroll through the outdoor bronzes and pieces of art inside on two floors. It is free and the gift shop has a card for any occasion and person. You could spend hours trying to find the perfect card. You'll want to take the tour. It is informative, a... More

Ok, I used to own a Southwest Art gallery. I was looking forward to viewing the art. It was the largest known exhibit of second rate western art I have encountered. Check out the western art at the Denver Art Museum or American Museum of Western Art across from the Brown Palace (reservation required).
