Eat on the veranda, look across the open lawn and up at the Boulder Flatirons for a historical throwback to the arts and culture of the chautaugua summer camps/retreats of the 19th century. A dining hall, park, amphitheater and rental cottages make for a vintage summer in the Colorado Rockies. Walked the grounds and ate in the dining hall (sustainable... More

Challenging hike to the Royal Arch, but well worth the excursion. Note....it's easier coming back down!

Beautiful Park in the city of Boulder, close to CU and parking can be difficult during holiday period, that is reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars!

Have great walks, go to a concert with some good headliners (Wynton Marsalis, etc), and have great cocktails or a dinner on the veranda of this historic restaurant!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited and it's FREE!!!!! So many beautiful hikes -short ones, long ones, easy, hard, meadows to mountains - you name it!! I have gone everyday since landing in Boulder. Stop by the ranger cottage to pick up a trail map and get recommendations. They've got lots of info to share. You... More

Chautauqua is the park area just south of downtown where you can find hikes of all difficulties and if you are a climber...well the Flatirons are where you are going. The parking lot fills up early so get there early on weekends and holidays. There is an information building with restrooms and a vending machine...water. Have not been to the... More

We hiked the Royal Arch hiking trail that begins in Chautauqua for the first time, and will definitely go back for repeat visits. The trail has some intermediate difficulty portions, and is a great workout. The views all along the trail are beautiful, and the arch and views from there do not disappoint. It is fairly busy in the summer... More

They use to have a Sunday Brunch buffet and it was very good. They have done away with the Brunch and just have ordering off the menu. Not thrilled with the food. Food was much better when it was the buffet.
