there is a multitude of hiking trails in this area and though well used, it didn't feel highly crowded. people were spread out along the trails.

Very nice park but the trail is rugged and it was an error for me to take the grandkids. Was far too much for them Beautiful otherwise and just outside Boulder

Great fun hiking. And when it snowed, the sledding was just awesome. We couldn't see anything because of all the snow, but it was fun.

The Flatirons are beautiful. There was a light snow on the ground and had been melting for a couple of days. The melt resulted in a pretty muddy trail. We were looking for a nice hike, but the mud was a bit too much for us. Nevertheless, the view of the Flatirons is well worth the drive out there.

New remodel is nice, food is good, but the best is the history and the views. You just can't find places better than Chatauqua.

This is a lovely place to have a picnic, and there are also any number of trailheads here as well. It can be somewhat crowded on nice days. There is a very decent restaurant here as well.

We went for a hike up to the Royal Arch from Chautauqua park and it was stunningly beautiful but quite crowded. The hike was never flat, so it was a good workout; lots and lots of stairs. I fell on a sheet of ice on one section of the trail, so I would recommend bringing poles or YakTrax or something.... More

A great way to take in the beauty that Boulder offers. Chatuaqua is in the foothills of the Rockies, and it's just a stunningly beautiful area to go hiking and take in some great views of Boulder as you get higher into the trails.

Got a map, talked to a park ranger and then ignored what she said and went our own route....up Chautauqua trail to the 2nd and 3rd flat iron. About 15 minutes up the trail I was ready to quit. The elevation gain and being a "flatlander" in her mid 40's made this hike pretty difficult until we got up to... More

Weather permitting, this is a "must see and hike" in Boulder. All ages and abilities welcome! Parking can be tight, especially on the weekends. Find a spot, put on your hiking boots or sneakers and head on up. We didn't get to venture too far in but the trails are relatively easy and it's a very scenic spot. Good for... More
