Driving back, kind of exhausted from the trip to Glacier Point, saw the bridge and pulled in. Much to our surprise there was a lot to see here! Horses, history, beautiful river... Must see and glad we spotted it! Take a buggy ride through the village, the horses are right there to see and their caretaker was so friendly!

Wawona is a small town, but try riding on the horse drawn wagon. This affordable 10 min tour of $4 for adults lets you see the old log cabins that were transported from various locations and time period to one area for all to witness history. You can ride on the horse drawn wagon where the coach driver will give... More

In the past this has been a complete living history village with period reinactors in every building. Now just the blacksmith shop and the stage depot are active. The blacksmith and the stage driver are great, but the village could use more historic characters.

I went here years ago with my sister and her family and it seemed as though there were a lot of people dressed in the time period...this time there was nothing. Then I found out that the people show up around 2pm and only a couple of the houses are operating. For instance the day we went there would only... More

Had old cabins and machinery. Great covered bridge. Was there in March, so lots of snow and very few people.

This place, part of Yosemite National Park, is just down the road from the Wawona Hotel. The collection of historic cabins and other structures are very interesting to see. You can even peep in the windows and imagine life in them. There is a minimart/giftshop across the parking lot if you need a snack or want a Yosemite memento

Very interesting place...lots and lots of history of Yosemite...how it was discovered and came to be one of our country's most beautiful places.

This is great for the kids, but was better in years past. Not sure if budget problems have it. Last time we were there, it wasn't open but a few days per week. Surprising in the middle of summer tourist season.
