The National Park Service should be ashamed. They have unabashedly allowed a monopolistic concessionaire to usurp this beautiful Sequoia grove. When I was young, one could drive up the hill and admire the trees up close. Now, one has to park at the bottom of the hill, where there's a couple of large trees, and then walk up the hill... More

Glad we didn't have to walk ! Thats a big hill. With ear phones on and a seat on the tram we started up the hill. This time of year the pollen turns your cloths yellow and dust makes your mouth dry.I liked the history lesson .Treehugers will not let them maintain roads , to bad .

Excellent Redwood Grove for us to enjoy. Great place to embrace the natural eye candy surrounding the visitor. A real treat.

The hike is uphill and the elevation is high, so remember and be kind to yourself. But its a slow uphill, and a mild hike. And its absolutely worth it!

Mariposa Grove is one of the KEWLEST places we have ever been as a couple of over 20 years. We stayed at the lodge just outside and it was amazing as well.

The Mariposa Big Grove is jaw-dropping in beauty. You can leisurely stroll thru beautiful forrest to get to "the trees"- stay as long as you'd like or make just a short trip here. It is peaceful and while of course there are other people there, you can experience it "just yourself." While a fee is noted below, that is the... More

Trees over 2000 years old and close to 100 feet around! It's a very easy hike to get to see all the trees but you can still get a sense of the size from the parking lot. A truly must not miss when you visit Yosemite!!

I have been looking at photos of these trees since i was a kid...it was so much fun to see them in real life...2,000 year old trees...get your head around that! It will take less than half a day to do this trip...you can walk or spend $35 each on the bus...seems ridiculously expensive.

This is a must visit. I spent ten minutes sat watching a woodpecker hunt for food in the peace of the forest, and trekked to see all of the highlighted big trees. This enchanting place truly makes you reflect on nature and mankind and how they interact. Be warned, all the trees are uphill from the car park, but there... More

We only hiked the lower grove due to time constraints but it was beautiful. Early morning or later afternoon bring the best lighting for photos and lack of crowds.
