Sky Sailing is a family owned and operated Sailplane flight school and sight seeing operation in business since 1959. Located in the mountains of North East San Diego County, we enjoy year round soaring with view from Sea to Salton Sea. We offer 20, 30, and 40 minutes rides for one or two passengers, aerobatic rides, motor glider rides and flight instruction in Sailplanes. Make a day of fun soaring in the mountains. When your flight is complete enjoy the new Shadow Mountain Winery or famous apple pie in near by Julian.

I came here because I was treated unfairly at Soaring Academy in Llano. I found this place to be happy, fun, and with many experienced instructors who are quite knowledgeable. I found after getting my license, Soaring Academy was rude, picky, found issues, and generally became not fun, (because I was now just a renter). I eventually left and came... More

On my way to Borrego Springs to do some hiking and other desert activities, I passed the Sky Sailing operation off route 79 in Warner Springs. It looked very interesting, but just continued on my way to Borrego Springs. Over the next few days, I thought about doing a sail plane ride on my way home, gave them a call,... More

The acrobatic glider flight was phenomenal! It was exhilarating to do rapid sequences of loops, hammerheads, and rolls. I experienced positive G's, negative G's, and free falls. The view was stunning. An acrobatic glider flight is definitely something you must add to your bucket list. The 25 minute flight ($180) started with a parachute briefing. Yes, there is a parachute... A Great review, thank you very much. While the Aerobatic flight is short by the nature of the flight using up energy to perform maneuvers we also do our best to give the customer some stick time packing as much into your experience as possible! More

My wife and I were able to enjoy a fantastic experience in Warner Springs at Sky Sailing , Inc. This is the same location the Shuttle pilots trained at for their Shuttle landings. Our pilot was a local school teacher and flight instructor filled with sky sailing knowledge and information about wind currents, topography and able to tell us all... More

Went for my first glider ride and loved every minute of it. The office staff and pilot were top notch in the service area and really made me feel comfortable about taking a ride. Would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in flying.

Bucket list must do! Reasonable price. Beautiful scenery! Would do again. The previous reviewer that had an off field landing shows there is a small risk. Soaring is a safe activity. Nothing is perfect though. Don't let that make you miss this fun life changing activity! W

I was fortunate enough to win this trip at a charity auction and it should have been the grand prize. My 19 year old grandaughter and I have a history of exciting and thrilling rides and this is certainly near the top of our list. From the time we arrivied we were treated well as if the proprieters knew we... More

Funny thing, my first ride in a sailplane was won at a charity event as well donated by Sky Sailing. Every year Sky Sailing selects organizations to donate rides to for the benefit of the community. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us. More

Once in a lifetime you just need to break away and do something amazing.....and this is it. The pilots and ground crew are great on the gorund. They went over everything - as much as we wanted to know about the gliders. In the air, the pilot did as many (or as few) sharp turns as we wanted (or could... More
