Perfect way to get to SF from the North part of the Bay area!!! You avoid outrageous parking fees and you are dropped off right downtown either at Pier 1 (Ferry Parking) or Pier 39 right next to Fisherman's Wharf! If you qualify, don't forget to ask for the Senior Discount...you'll save 50%!!!

Taking the ferry from Vallejo, CA to San Francisco was a very enjoyable experience. Would suggest you do this on a weekend as, during the week, you may not be able to find parking because of commuters. There is a parking garage and outside parking lot right across from the ferry terminal for $5.00 (credit cards are accepted). Inside the... More

Parked at the ferry and went into town for a day. A relaxing drive with no hassles. You can take the whole family and the kids can sleep on the way back. Great views from the ferry of Angel Island and the waterfront. You get off right near the NPS desk for Alcatraz tours. Book these ahead of time online.... More

By using the ferry, we saved time and money as opposed to driving in each day. A relaxing trip in and out of San Francisco

If you need to get from the Vallejo/Benicia area to San Francisco, this ferry is a really good choice. It runs often, is modestly priced, and takes almost exactly the same time as driving down I-80 and across the Bay Bridge with a whole lot less hassle. You arrive relaxed and within a short walk of many buses, BART, and... More

For the price and stress free mode of traveling, it was totally the way to go! From the people at the ticket counter, to the guys taking the tix, all way around, it was a GREAT experience! I would totally recommend this!

This is an excellent way to travel to San Francisco. There's no smog or traffic. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. So, on the weekends, arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

Being a traveler from out of town I was not looking forward to the drive into SF and the parking experience.we took the hour ferry ride from Vallejo to the port of SF and it was perfect to walk off, enjoy seafood and see Alcatraz and the golden gate bridge on the ferry ride. Liked this option as an outsider,... More

We took the ferry today for the first time. I may actually go to SF more often now. Very comfortable seats, not crammed together, plenty of elbow and leg room and wifi. You also have the opportunity to do some great sightseeing, we even saw a dolphin on the way back. We bought day passes which was really nice, $24.... More

There are a number of ferries you can use to get to/from SF. This week we drove from Walnut Creek to Vallejo and took the boat to the Ferry Bldg to go out to lunch and do some grocery shopping. The trip takes about an hour and there are a number for very comfortable seats as well as an open... More
