The Ukiah Symphony Orchestra played a fundraiser at the Nelson Family Vineyards on Saturday, August 1st. It was a beautiful warm evening graced by a full moon at concert's end, with a lively enthusiastic and supportive audience in a charming, rural amphitheater-type setting on a grassy slope under heritage oaks overlooking a sea of green grape vines. Barbecue and other... More

Lovely garden up to the tasting room, I had read about the Brut, in the wine magazine for the area, so we decided to stop. The fellows my hubby knows told him about the berries, so two birds with one stone, why not. We came away with the sparkling wine and the Orange Muscat. Delish! Then on to the next!... More

Stopped at Nelson Family Vineyards on the way back home to SoCal (spent a week in Humboldt). We wanted to catch a wine tasting that was not out of the way and this is right off the 101. So glad we stopped here! 2 of us were offered a sample of 10 wines and charged nothing when we ended up... More

From the turn off 101, down the dusty road, straight up to the door of the intimate tasting room, Nelson Family Vineyards sets the bar high for the overall experience of enjoying wine. Sherrilynn treated us impeccably well; she was more of a family member who says "Try this; you are going to like it" without any pressure to purchase.... More

Great history coupled with great wine would sum up our trip to Nelson Family Vineyard. It was our first stop in wine country...and little did we know it would be our favorite. This is a hidden gem in all of wine country. Ask about the history of the land and what they use the land for...and certainly enjoy the wine!

Location is pristine on a hill looking through a garden to the vineyard. I met Tyler years ago when I was a buyer of their wine for retail. We had long discussions about the direction wine was going. Specifically a new blush that was dry that he was making (Provincial style). He and then his fiancé (Congrats) ran all aspects. The... More

My husband and I have stopped at this lovely winery on two separate occasions. If there are wines that are perfect for my palate, this is the place. Not only are the wines fabulous, but also the folks that host the wine tastings are so friendly and just real people. We have enjoyed ourselves immensely. Sherrilynn you are the best!... More

Robin was the perfect host. The wines were exquisite and the grounds were beautifully maintained flowers & native plants. Nelson Family vineyards is a rare gem among the many choices you have when visiting the wine country. We've been offered several "wine club" memberships...this is the first I felt was perfect match for us...

We stopped by Nelson Family Vineyards even though it wasn't on our initial list to visit and we were so happy that we did. The setting is so peaceful, gorgeous and lovely to walk around. The tasting room was very nice and every wine we tasted we loved! We ordered a case to be shipped home. The staff were very... More
