By visiting the museum you also learn a lot about the local region as well as the history of Grace's family and her husband's family--all very interesting. We... More

Grace Hudson and her husband lived in the house which is part of the museum. Her paintings of the Pomo Indians are exceptional. A tour of the house and galleries brings California history to life in a very personal and poignant way.

Really interesting small museum with paintings, documenting local life last century. Intriguing Native American artefacts. Helpful staff and cheap. Well worth a visit if in Ukiah.

I first went to tour the craftsman style home here which is wonderful. The last time I went I went around back to the museum, I was pleasantly surprised. They offer classes in everything in which I am interested. I joined immediately.

MaineExplorer, thanks for a great review of Ukiah's local gem. The Sun House, Museum, and neighboring park are all part of the original property. The ,usuem's collections include Grace's paintings, family memorabilia and usually showcase an exhibit of local art, or traveling exhibition. The museum also owns an extensive collection of A O Carpenter's (part of the Carpenter/Hudson clan) glass... More
