I usually ski at Squaw, but this year I skied at Northstar because my son and daughter-in-law wanted to ski there (they are snowboarders and they think the parks are really good). What a surprise! I hadn't been there in years, and assumed it was still rather small, run-down, and intermediate, at best. At least that's the way I remembered... More

The runs seem narrower, which are tougher for a beginner skier. The ski-in, ski-out Ritz is a great place for a day off of eating and drinking hot-topddies. We preferred the openess of Squaw's runs, but truly hated Homewood for late-in-the-season skiing. They also have very few true blues.

I have had a season pass to Northstar for many years. The place has grown up from medium resort to a large "First class resort". I like the new chairs and new runs. I primarily ski the backside, so I usually away from the crowds in the valley. I have noticed that they have really cut back on mountain staff.... More

Maybe I am biased because Northstar is the resort I go to most in the Tahoe area (disclaimer: I do have a season pass), but employees here have to be the most friendly ever (I think even beating the purported happiest/friendliest place on Earth: Disneyland). All the drivers for the complimentary on site shuttle buses are outgoing and chatty (in... More

I had a wonderful time for what was essentially my first time skiing. It was a warm winter so it was early spring sking. Therefore the prices are a little steep for what is essentially a half day of skiing. The place is very nice, clean and well kept. It was such a pristine "village" I was wondering if it... More

Visited twice whilst skiing at Heavenly. The resort is very nice and best of all the ski slopes is a nice change from heavenly.

5 of us visited Easter Monday. Parking near the entrance was $20 - not a great way to start. Why charge at all? Fortunately that was soon forgotten as we had a superb days skiing. Trails were beautifully groomed. Lunch at Zephyr was pretty awful - my chicken burger had clearly been cooked well before I ordered - it was... More

Very well arranged for skiing and nice setting. Everyone on the staff pleasant. Unfortunately tubing closed early and ice skating turned to roller skating ring. Weather's fault not the resort.
