I went up to northstar for the first time, I have been to many resorts before and have never encountered a problem. Granted I am not a professional but I am far from a begginer. I was on my first run when I encountered a skier who was going rather slow and happened to stop right mid hill, I know... More

My spouse and I went to Northstar at Tahoe for some snowboarding lessons. It was quite the experience, since both of us are "50 something" and did not grow up on snowboards. The instructors were very patient and had a great sense of humor. We had a good time until one of us (I won't say who) took a small... More

Usually best park around.. lift operators very nice.. atmosphere is chill. Park crew always working keeping features legit.. foods really good although pricey :-( lifts stay moving .. always blowing snow .. I'll definitely be back.

Here's a tip.... take the free gondola ride up to the hotel to get a great elevated view. Northstar has been my go-to resort for the last 5 years and I will continue to be a season pass holder for the next five years. Last season was a little disappointing... however, Northstar went above and beyond the call of duty... More

We were visiting friends in Truckee and missed the storm. Our 10 year old had never ice skated so the thought of an outdoor skating rink was very appealing since we couldn't sled. The rink is lovely and "romantic" and there was live music playing...free s'mores...and even lots of adults enjoying the outdoor fires with a cocktail in hand. I... More

I as in the area with my son and we were looking for an opportunity to get a bit of skiing in, even though it was early in the season and there had been no significant snowfall. I already had Heavenly lift tickets but they were not offering anything in the way of beginner slopes. I called Northstar and the... More

We stayed at the Welk Resort here and found it delightful. We were here in the shoulder season as we knew we would be, so there was no snow sports or golf, and most of the restaurants and shops in the village were closed. The resort staff were helpful and cheerfully met all our needs. Our. two bedroom, two bath... More

Northstar is,a by far, the best ski area in the Tahoe basin...if you like long, groomed. Well designed slopes for skiing. Best tree skiing around when the snow conditions permit. Something for everyone, and skiing into lunch at the Ritz is a nice treat too. X Country trails and snowshoeing too. Summers are beautiful: plenty of hiking, mountain biking (not... More

Nothing to rave about here. The village was nice enough. Our room was in the pines, and being there in September, it was quiet. The room however, was not what we expected. We booked a one bedroom and ended up with a room with a Murphy bed in the living room. When pulled down, it was almost impossible to get... More

Northstar is unmatchable in the area for skiing. Even during this HORRIBLE ski season of almost no snow, Northstar has enough snow making capability that the mountain was still a blast all season long. The crew on the entire mountain make skiing here a fun personal experience, even though it is a large resort. Tip: ski the Backside and Lookout... More
