We came here with our two young teenagers for a family ski trip. Since they were too "cool" to take lessons with a bunch of little kids, we opted for private lessons. Adelaide was their instructor and after an hour with her, they were able to go on the ski lifts with me and ski. By the end of the... More

Four novice skiers, two 6 year olds and two adults had a great time at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area. No, it is not the largest or the fanciest, but the people are genuinely nice and very good at what they do. The resort is just large enough - or small enough - to address the needs and skills... Thanks to the excellent young instructors at this ski school who taught our two grandchildren (girls aged 6 and 8) to ski confidently in two mornings. The girls live in Queensland, Australia, and had only seen snow for the first time two days before the ski school. They loved it and we were pleased. Rented equipment all good, food and... More

My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I all decided to try Tahoe Donner's downhill ski area. With the exception of my brother-in-law it was our very first time skiing. Living so close to the Tahoe area I do not know why we waited so long. We went on a Sunday at the end of what was for most people a long... More

This is a very small resort but it is great if your kids are just starting to ski. The ticket prices are pretty decent, and no crowds and no crazy snowboarders that will take the kids out. Very family friendly. But if you are looking for some skiing adventure, this is not the right resort!

The skiing was great for us. There were no crowds or lines at the lifts. The length of the runs was just right for us. The staff was helpful.

The most reasonable place in Tahoe to ski! The terrain is limited, predominately beginner and intermediate. Just a few chairs. But great place to take lessons and teach the grandkids to ski!

I relearned to ski here a few years ago and it is still my favorite place. Small mountain, but it's great for someone like me with creaky joints. I have a fabulous time, because I don't get stuck on long runs. Both my kids learned to snowboard here with lessons from their great school. It's best to get to the... More
