Boreal is a small ski area. They try different things to attract skiers. Woodward is a large building filled with trampolines, foam pits, ramps, and other constructions to learn flips and tricks. The resort has an extensive park area with half pipe, rails, and jumps of various sizes. They have a contoured ski run with banks and hills that's fun.... More

I've visited Boreal for the very first time this 2015-2016 snow season with my family. With both visits on weekends and for the very 1st time mid-week (*non-holiday*) The weekends can be extremely crowded and parking charged $20 if you do not already have 1) season pass OR 2) pre-purchase lessons/ski pass. For my midweek visit with the kids, it... More

I would recommend Boreal most for beginning skiers, especially if you can avoid peak times. We went on MLK weekend, and (as you might expect) it was totally crowded, in spite of a wet storm that was passing through that day. My sense was that, if the weather had been nice, it could have been so packed on the slopes... More

Great place to ski during the week. NOBODY WAS THERE! mountain is well groomed and the weather was perfect. I was a little put off by the lack of supervision on the chair lift. At one point we skied the same run 5-6 times in a row and each time there was no one manning the chair. Just seem odd... More

Boreal for the most part is competent from skiing to the facilities to the food. However, their lifts on all but the beginner runs, have very steep drop-offs, which makes it challenging for snowboaders to unload. More alarming, was the fact the lift operator directed the fallen passengers to "get out of the way" and made no attempt to slow... More

After visiting Heavenly Mountain Resort the previous day, we visited this ski resort. Compared to Heavenly, the price is quite reasonable for ski learners like us. Also, this resort provides tubing activity, which is fun for my kids who did not have experience of snow play. There is a $10 "pedestrian" charge for people who does not play tubing but... More

We started out for a fun filled snow day, however it turned out to be an endless money pit.The parking is $20, then you walk around looking for signs on where to pay for tubing as there are no signs as to what end of the huge icy parking lot you want to be at. There are no directional signs... More

First time visiting this ski resort (actually this was the first time visiting a ski resort ever). We only came here for tubing. We had a great time however it was pretty pricey. Cost us $39/per person for two hours worth of tubing. The slopes were well groomed, the escalator was a nice touch allowing us to avoid climbing the... More

This year is have been a blessing to see how much snow the Sierra has so far! Well, we decide to stop at Boreal, and it was nice to see the many families were there, so the entrance at noon was slowly but surely to pay the $20.00 for parking. We just stopped for our daughter who wanted to make... More

It's the closest to the highway and way the heck too crowded. We arrived by 9:30 AM (they open at nine). After driving and hour and a half, we waited an hour in line (3 of us in lift ticket line, one of us for rentals, all of us outside in the cold). After a half hour I asked an... More
