Well this is Ski Resort is about as close as you can get to the SF Bay area and be able to enjoy a day up on the hill. You can wake up at O Dark Thirty (not even earlier like Tahoe would be) and make it up to the slopes at a reasonable hour get a full day in... More

Boreal is my family's favorite place to ski (we have boys 10 and 12). It is not too expensive, great long green runs (once you get off the main central area) and good blues for us too. It's nice and low key - food pretty good. I wish they would kick out all of the people saving tables though. The... More

This is only place I go to ski because * It's easy accessible from I-80 which is 2-3 lane freeway and it's about 190 miles from Silicon Valley so it take about 2 1/2 hours to reach there. * It's just a SKI place not resort so it will be easier to find parking and less walking to the ski... More

We spent a few nights at The Boreal Inn for the purpose of getting our two young children into a few ski lessons, to attend the Woodward Ski camp and to go tubing. The resort was a little too crowded for me personally but I guess this is to be expected around the new year. The food available was over... More

This place offers night skiing for a reasonable price. It is a favorite among beginner snowboarders who like to perform tricks (they have the bars). Not a favorite for more serious skiers who like bigger resorts like northstar or squaw.

Boreal isn't the largest resort... however, they open season early, offer night riding and do what they can to get you riding as much as possible. The crowds tend to be large here during peak season since it is located ride off highway 80. Worth the stop if you don't want to continue on to Northstar.

They have every level of slopes and have a great park with jumps, half pipe..etc. They also play music in the park area.

Never fails....whenever you go here most of the lifts are closed , the runs arer not groomed and the Bireal Inn is so bad it should be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. Whoever is managing this outfit should be fired!!!

I only have a few days of skiing under my belt, so my husband and I figured we would give Boreal a try for me to gain some hours of practice for a good price. The ticket/rental combos were very reasonable, and we were excited about the 9am-9pm hours. Unfortunately, the staff was less than helpful to us both. During... More

The kids in our group loved this place a lot. Most of them were intermediate level skiing kids and they got to warm up in a couple of courses, then tried it out in another couple of courses which had turns, jumps (that the kids could avoid if/as needed) - great runs for kids. My son wants to go here... More
