Description: What began as a long-time dream for Brother-in-laws Lawrie Lipton and Mark...
What began as a long-time dream for Brother-in-laws Lawrie Lipton and Mark Manfield, came to fruition with the opening of Lorimar Vineyards and Winery. In fact, the name Lorimar itself was formed by combining Lawrie and Mark's first names. Lorimar's Old Town location was opened in 2009 while the Wine Country property was under construction. In the spring of 2012 Lorimar Vineyards and Winery celebrated with thousands of local residents and guests for the Grand Opening of our second location, an incredible Tuscan style winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country. Featuring breathtaking views of Mount Palomar and the Santa Ana Mountains, Lorimar features live music on the sunset patio every weekend all year long. Guests will also enjoy relaxing by the stone fireplace surrounded by a living art gallery, filled with works from many local artists. At Lorimar we craft wines that are approachable with a fruit forward style that showcases the strengths of Temecula Wine Country. "We create wines using the best of the old world ways combined with today's more advanced technologies, producing delicious varietals and exciting blends," explains co-owner, Lawrie Lipton. Our Tuscan style winery is showcased amidst adjoining orange groves and our 22 acre estate vineyard. Our first vine plantings were of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2000 followed by Syrah, Grenache, Muscat, Viognier and Sangiovese. Temecula's wine growing region is unique and special. We are 22 miles away from the ocean which classifies us a Maritime climate. Balanced with warm sunny days and cool nights, the vines flourish and produce excellent fruit in our climate. The soil composition of decomposed granite and clay drains well and is ideal for retaining moisture reserves deep below the surface roots. "Our goal is to create a Fusion of Wine, Art and Music"

We have been wine-tasting at Lorimar several times and always enjoy it. We have found some delicious and unique wines here, enjoyed the gift shop and grounds, and will certainly visit again!

Fantastic wines, they are a bit pricey, ask about specials. Kevin is fantastic, we told him the type of wine we liked ( each of us with totally different tastes) and he always picked winners. They have live music outside which is nice, but come for the excellent wines and selection.

Not only does Lorimar have excellent wines, their staff is so friendly and accomodating. The building is beautiful, and they have a great variety of gifts and foods available for browsing and purchasing. If you are a wine club member, you get 20% off your purchases. Their patio is setting makes you feel like you are in Italy as it... More

We found a coupon for their wine tasting on the Temecula website that is good on the weekend. Wines were delicious and the wine tasting room in Temecula has a nice sitting area where we could sit and chat.

We visited Lorimar two weeks ago as part of our personalized wine tour with Tom, from Wineormous. We enjoyed our time there and tasted some excellent wines. They had sold out of a few of their red wines so we were given the opportunity to taste several of their reserve wines, which was a nice bonus. They have a nice... More

Penny is great! She gave us an informative tour of the winery and we had wine tastings along the way. Everyone was friendly and personable even with the crowd, and that sets them apart from other wineries! Thank you Lorimar, we will see you again!

This was the first wine tasting every for my wife and I, and while we at least knew a little bit, we were of course a bit nervous at being a couple of obvious yokels showing up to taste wine. Being early birds we were there 15 mins before opening so we walked around. Beautiful place, and you could see... More

Of the Temecula wineries I have visited, Lorimar truly had the best wines. More care in developing the grape and the crafting of the wines. Reminded me more of Sonoma than Temecula! Definite return here.

I visited the Lorimer winery on my last trip to Temecula. This time I stopped by the loft location in downtown. I can't believe I didn't hear about this place before. It was small but cozy. Renee was very welcoming and by far one of the nicest people I have ever met. We first went on a Thursday night and... More

Very nice. The main tasting room was closed for the day but they had another room open. It was extremely hot this day. The only thing that was annoying were the flies due to the heat but this was not their fault. Also, they had an outdoor area but if you wanted an umbrella, you had to stand. If you... More
