2012 graftings of Nero d Avola may produce some decent wines in a few years. Current offerings are average with the reds a few steps ahead of the whites.

This visit started as a little laugh, due to the name of the vineyard. The laugh was on me and my friends once we tasted some of their wines! Try the falanghina...it's a wonderful white, with a hint of apple and pear! We'd not tasted this before, so several bottles made their way back home...along with a T-shirt!

With its somewhat secluded location, Cougar is not as well known or as popular as the bigger wineries along Rancho California where many of the bigger vineyards are in Temecula. However, their specialization in Italian varietals and reasonable pricing make them one of the best in the area. Their reds range from light to medium to some really full-bodied wines... More

Cougar Winery has it all! Wonderful people who care about you, take the time to share the amazing wine here! The wine is the star - amazing Italian varietals - our fav is the Sangiovese and the full Monte - but the food is the amazing understudy! Great pizza, platters, sandwiches and more! Make it a must stop when your... More

We were very impressed with our wine tasting at Cougar Winery. Michael talked to us about the many wines produced there and spent time describing the attributes of each wine as we tasted them. We could tell he was passionate about the Cougar wine produced there and was knowledgeable about the history of the wine growing in the region. When... More

We always make Cougar a stop when in Temecula. They are consistently good, have great pourers/wine informants and a nice relaxing atmosphere and terrace. Lisa was very informative, super friendly and great going thru the tasting. Went home with Barbera,Aglianico,Vermentino and Sangio also joined the wine club. They also have a deli now to kick back and enjoy the outdoors scenic... More

Very nice, small (small by Temecula standards) family Winery. It's 17 acres under vine and they mainly grow unique Italian varietals that only a few others in the US grow and offer. The gentleman who provided us our tasting was great! He went over each wine in great detail and that really makes a huge difference when pouring, as it's... More

The Cougar Winery is situated high on a hill overlooking the vineyards. They have wine tasting of course and a deli that serves a variety of sandwiches. There are lots of tables inside and more on the outside patio. At times they have entertainment on weekend evenings. The wines are some of the better ones available in Temecula and if... More

If you are looking for a casual lunch while driving around the Temecula Wineries this is a great place. The view is spectacular. You will feel like you are in Tuscany. We did not do any taste testing of the wines but had a very casual lunch on their outside covered patio. If you are not a wine drinker you... More
