The depot museum is a very well-arranged museum which tells the story of railroading in Tehachapi and of the famous Tehachapi Loop. Docents are very helpful in explaining the displays and the gift shop has some very nice items. Definitely worth a visit.

Lots to look at, masses to read and a fun way to learn about the history and locality. The staff are friendly and helpful and the exhibits presented well and easy to see.

This is a great little museum with excellent docents. For all the comments about its size, it certainly makes up for with information. You could spend an entire day just reading over its very comprehensive timeline of railroad expansion in the west - this itself makes a visit very worth while...

Interesting, factual, and a piece of our California heritage. Work a side trip off the i-58. Several little shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

This Depot has a lot of history and tells it to you in an interesting way. Plenty of room to look around, not like some crowded museums. When they were refurbishing this building, someone set it on fire, to a lot of love and work went into rebuilding what they had left, but you would never know which was which.... More

Interesting display of railroad items collected by one man over a life's connection with trains and lots of photographs, a model and information about the history of the line and the world famous Tehachapi loop.

This, I think, is a bit over rated. I am not into trains etc so found this very boring and preferred to sit outside in the sunshine.

Very nice little museum if you enjoy history. You probably would not take more than an hour, but it's an enjoyable visit.

Wow!! This depot is so nice! I love what they have done. Super clean. Everything is laid out well & perfect to enjoy & understand! Loved wine tasting through there! Great idea Tehachapi!! Keep up the great work restoring the town's fabulousness!! This museum is a great way to experience the 'old' railroad times. Cute little park for the little... More
