11 years ago I came here and had a great experience with my kids. I Went yesterday with my two neices ages 2 & 4 that were visiting from Palm Springs, totally opposite experience. Only one person on staff, we waited patiently for him to finish his tour since it was clearly marked that we can't pass a certain point... More

Indian Point Ostrich Ranch has been in business since 1992 and opened to public viewing and tours five years later. Ostrich is the "other red meat" and they are also raised for leather, feathers, and their eggs and egg shells are highly valued, so the ranch has much to offer, both from an educational perspective and from their fascinating gift... This was our second time visiting the Indian Point Ostrich Ranch and since our first visit they added pens with baby ostriches in various stages of growth and a section where you can feed them with long spoons. Let's face it...ostriches are weirdly cool and according to Tori our guide, not bright! Their brain is smaller than their eyeball and... More

Good place to learn about these huge birds and see them up close. You will get to feed the birds, but hold onto the pans, as they like to tip them.

We are new to Bakersfield. We always drive two to three hours to spend a day or two close to the beach. We started to explore local areas and this was the first place. Your was helpful and well worth it for the do room. Small place for those who are tired of big and crowded places. Well worth the... More

The young man who took us around the ranch was so kind and taught us so much. We were able to "pet" the feathers, we learned about the laying habits of the bird (and the fact that they mate for life with one partner) and so many other things. Who would have thought we would have had such a fun... More

Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He taught us quite a bit abouit these birds which are the largest birds .I didn't realize that they only had an attention span of about 15 seconds and were considered to be "stupid" and untrainable. They don't have teeth, but will peck at you with their beaks and it is wise not... More

We recently attended the Marshall Tucker Band show. The venue is next to the lake and under the pines. The sound system is excellent and there is no bad seat. The performers are clearly comfortable and enjoy the location and knowledgable crowd. Concessions are handy and efficient as are the restrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great place to see... We decided to stop in Tehachapi in the way back from Lake Havasu and came across a brochure for this place. We all loved it. My kids, 10 & 14 and my wife. I recommend it. You will learn about ostriches and get up close.
