How is must have been for the wealthy 100 yrs ago.

Well conducted State park tour thru the mansion to understand what is like to live the life with all the waiters and servants needed to keep the operation going during those times.

Enjoyable, stopped spur of the moment glad I did. Did not take long to tour mansion but spent time walking the grounds.

Interesting to see, but doesn't compare to Vikingsholm or Pope Mansions. Fabulous setting. Interesting story.

What fun! I've been to Lake Tahoe many times, and I never even knew this existed -- it's in the middle of Sugar Pine Point state park, so there's not only the mansion to visit/tour, but they have a beach to play on, a public tennis court, and they also rent kayaks. One amazing site, could easily spend the day... More

The Hellman-Ehrman mansion provides an excellent view into the world of wealthy summer vacationers in old Tahoe. The guided tour is excellent, showing the posh master and guest rooms (each with its own bathroom). The living room, dining room and grand staircase are gorgeous. In comparison, the downstairs staff areas show how the hired help lived and worked. One can... More

We spent several hours walking the grounds and touring the masion. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and full of information. It is an easy walk down to Lake Tahoe in front of the masion. I loves seeing the history of California. It is hard to believe that the Lake Tahoe area was basically clsed after Labor Day. Times have changed.

We got there to late to make the tour, but we walked around the grounds and looked in the windows and its grand. The grounds have a beautiful view of the lake, and there were people swimming and picnicking. There is a dock and very nice restrooms. We also seen bike riders out on the bike trail and people with... More

Rented bikes and rode from Homewood to the Hellman Ehrman Mansion. We didn't pay to go in but took in the views of the beach and lake which were great. Someday I'll go through the museums.

They are very tight on set up you DONOT get access till 2:30 for your rental company to set up and then you can set... More

We went with another couple and almost missed the tour of the mansion. We rushed to get over before the tour went inside and glad we did. It was most interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We all thoroughly enjoyed and recommend it to anyone who might wander into the area.
