I love the terrain at Alpine Meadows, but ever since KSL took over, the service is sub-par and it's less of a "locals mountain", more of Squaw Valley's redheaded stepchild. I'm always getting cut off by skiers and the lifties won't even look at me (maybe because they're over a poor ski season?) But Alpine has great variety and I... More

Mid week skiing is best, for you would have all the ski bowls to yourself. Weekends are busy but not as bad as Squaw Valley. Beautiful Lake Tahoe Views from several chairs. Not as intense as the crowds at Squaw, more laid back. It is owned by Squaw Valley. Excellent intermediate and off piste advanced.

Although it was a terrible snow year, and they only had less than half of their terrain open, this was a nice resort! After our first run there, we were fortunate enough to ride the lift up with a mountain host, Mike (Mikey?) He was nice enough to tell us about the place and take a couple runs with us... More

No frills, great service, small groups in ski school, and an amazing mountain with great views. An old school resort for skiers and riders who don't want a resort with a shopping mall attached. The best snow in Tahoe!

First visit to Alpine Meadows during another poor snow season. The four year drought is certainly taking its toll. In spite of this the staff are trying very hard and are helpful and very friendly, much more so than some of the Squaw Valley people. Has some great runs for intermediate level skiers. With a good dump of snow can... More

While the views are spectacular, the lodge is old & run down, the bathrooms overflowing with garbage, toilet paper strewn about, broken lights., etc. Not a huge deal, but when lift tickets cost $120, I would expect a much better run resort.

Wow, for $120 you would expect foot rests on your ski lift, heated covers for your ski lift, or a gondola. Not here. Way overpriced for what is offered. I ski all over Colorado, and at least you get better equipment for your money. My kids only ski on green runs. Guess what, there are barely any on this mountain.... More

This is by far our favorite ski resort in the Tahoe area. It's very well run, with knowledgeable staff and ski patrol. The people that work here are great all the way from the food service, ticket booth workers, on mountain skilled workers like the cat operations and groomers, and the ski patrol. All are very efficient and the service... More

What a brilliant resort. Small and compact but still with variety and interest. Excellent facilities. A great atmosphere. Extremely welcoming and friendly resort staff. Stayed on piste but was told that there's some great off piste stuff available.
