Wow, amazing views of the lake and mountains, well worth the 15 minute drive from the beach. I only wish we had time to see more of the area, it's just beautiful.

Lake Tahoe is beautiful and on this highway 89 you don’t have to travel very far to see post-card worthy views much like the ones here at Inspiration Point Vista. Some of my favorite pictures were taken just a few steps off of the road. This stop is also one of the most crowded but you can't beat the views.

The hike was very simple (great for kids it seems given the quantity we saw there) and delivers great views of the lake.

Picturesque views of the lake. Well worth going a bit out of the way to see. Kids love it, but keep an eye on them. Plenty of places to get hurt.

One of the best spots for photographs.Overlooks all of Emerald Bay. Bathrooms were disgusting. Lots of tour busses stop here so be prepared for crowds. Parking can also be an issue.

Get up early. Take a ride to this spot on the west shore. If you are lucky, and there is no traffic, the silence is beautiful and deafening while looking out over a beautiful vista. Bring the camera. Enjoy the beauty. Enjoy the view. Sit back and view natures wonder.

We can't say enough about the color of the water of Lake Tahoe - it is amazing with it's bright blue and deep emerald green. The story boards at the overlooks here are great too - especially the one about the "eccentric" sailor. Highly encourage you to take a leisurely drive fully around the lake - takes about 3 hours...
