We were going to take a cruise of Emerald Bay by boat, and wanted to see it from the ground also. We drove up to Emerald Bay, and found inspiration point, and the views were breathtaking. The road is a winding road to get up here, and there is parking off the road. There is a viewing area, complete with... More

1. The view is superb. 2. You can get there only by car 3. Once you get there it is just about impossible to park as there must be about 25 parking spaces. We had to leave, but were luckier on the way back from the Bay. 4. So no matter how great the view. If you cannot get there.... More

I can't get enough of the view. Wish it was the view from my room. Go there early because it can get crowded easily and there's not that many parking spaces. The toilet smells bad.

You can park for 15 minutes or less and pay nothing or stay longer and pay a parking fee ..if you are lucky enough to find a parking space. We parked in the 15 minute space and walked a short distance to the overlook which is about 600 feet above Emerald Bay with majestic views of the bay and Lake... More

I'm pretty sure this is closer to South Lake Tahoe. Parking is difficult, even on weekdays, and the crowds can be annoying. The view is, of course, what it is all about, and there's no denying that it is spectacular. There was a singing pan-handler there when we stopped, which added to the distractions. If you have the time, take... More

Stunning views and drive. Worth your time- when you see it you have to pull over. Try for the Parking lot first. There is parking on the road in the dirt on both sides. It doesn't take very long:

One of the most beautiful views in Tahoe. You can see all of Emerald Bay from the lookout including the island and Vikingsholm. There is limited parking so there are cars parked along the road side. And if you need to use the restroom I suggest finding one some wear else,(not good). At the time they had a snack wagon... More

Absolutely worth the drive and the stop. Beautiful views; no nearby development. If you have time, there are some nice hikes.
