This is where it's at. If you arrive from the east then you will experience the crazy ridgeline drive where you will pass two bodies of water below both sides of the road after a series of hair pin turns. Arrive to your destination and take in the sights of Emerald Bay. It's very popular so be patient and you... More

This is a stop not to be missed when driving to Emerald Bay. Amazing opportunities for pictures or to just take in Lake Tahoe's beauty!

What an amazing view and the drive over is interesting as well. This is well worth the short trip from South Tahoe. Unfortuately, many other folks know this too, so it gets very crowded. Go early to avoid traffic, parking problems, and too much humanity.

What more can I say! Beautiful views of Emerald Bay from atop this vista point! Parking is hard to come by, but we just keep circling the parking lot until we see someone with keys in hand. People are coming and going, so it doesn't take long. There is limited parking along the road, but do so at your own... More

Lovely view of Emerald Bay. We were fortunate to get a parking space and got to check out the view. It is beautiful, but take the Bayview Trail across the road for an even more fantastic view!

Parking : Plenty. Even on crowded 4th July. we were able to find a spot. View : This point could have been inspirational, if it wasn't obstructed by trees. while driving north from Inspirational point, there are few spots on road from where view is magnificent and unobstructed. Only catch is parking is very limited.

When driving from South Lake Tahoe towards Emerald Bay, this is a stop not to be missed simply for the gorgeous views of the bay below. Positioned about 400 ft above, if you are patient enough to explore views from all nook and corner of this vista point, you can catch glimpses of Vikingsholm and the beach. Fannette Island is... We happened upon Inspiration Point last fall on our second day in South Lake Tahoe. As you ascend Emerald Drive before Inspiration Point, you may recognize the view from the movie "City of Angels." I love the view of Emerald Bay - the deep colors of the water reminded me of the Caribbean. If you are an amateur photographer, then... More

The view from Inspiration Point may be the most beautiful scenic vista along the road which surrounds Lake Tahoe. The elevation is well above the lake by probably 400 ft at least & looks down on Emerald Bay, an inlet of Lake Tahoe that was created by a glacier. The vivid blue water is surrounded by hills covered with trees... More

Wow, amazing views of the lake and mountains, well worth the 15 minute drive from the beach. I only wish we had time to see more of the area, it's just beautiful.
