Great addition to town

Knowledgable staff. Great options available. Wine tasting also available. Lots of items available that complement the cheeses as well.

Stopped by for some cheese to enjoy as an afternoon snack. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Owner helped us decide on the right cheese by asking what we were going to enjoy it with, what we liked and didn't like as far as source (goat, cow), and gave us tastes of each until we decided on a Honey Bee goat... None of the cheese is local, disappointment. We tasted several and chose two to take home with us. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Prices were reasonable. Interesting that this cheese shop is #1 for things to do. It's a small town, mostly antique shops, a one afternoon stop.

Hi Debra, Thank you for visiting out shop. We are happy to have had you enjoy our cheeses. I just want to explain that there are no local dairies in this area of California. There is not one commercial dairy in Amador or Calavaras Counties or in the general Sierra Nevada area. We wish there were. On average we carry... More

Our first stop to gather up fixin's for a winery picnic. Nice selection of artisan cheeses that can be sampled (with help from a cheese expert) before you commit. We got four cheeses -- Crackers -- spreads -- nuts -- salami's. We grabbed a baguette and had a great picnic. We were traveling with a vegan -- Sutter Creek is... More

Come in for a taste of cheeses from around the world. They have a cheese for almost anyone palate or pairing need for a food or wine. The owners have a great depth of knowledge about cheese making and aging. Come in for a suggestion and a taste of a cheese you only heard about from others.

This small cheese shop in Sutter Creek has an incredible selection of cheeses. They have samples of dozens of varieties so you can taste before you buy. And the selection of crackers is great!, I loved the LaPanzanella Mini Croccantinni Rosemary thin crackers. They are delicious on their own or with the Irish cheddar cheese. If you love cheese and... Very friendly and knowledgeable woman behind the counter. Probably tasted 15 cheeses. Did not find prices out of line at all. Try the coconut cheese. Left with a great selection.

Varieties you never thought of- Brie Mushroom was decadent, horseradish cheddar, double cream gouda- for a cheese lover this is a great stop. It is a small shop with a few gift items- the star is the cheese

It was a wonderful day when the Cheese Shop came to Sutter Creek. That's where we go when we run out of cheese. It is so popular with our friends and family that it has become a tradition to exchange gift certificates to the Cheese Shoppe for the holidays! As soon as you walk in, you are presented with samples... More
