We were so lucky to have found this Gem. My group was looking for top end Pinot Noir and found it at Robert Hunter Winery. The tour of the garden was a great way to warm up to Kurt and the history of this place. We loved everything about this 1.5 hour experience. Can't wait to drink the wine we... More

This tour was recommended to us by our tour guide. Reservations are required, but do not be late because the no-nonsense host will make you painfully aware of it! Although I found our host to be a little caustic and abrupt at times, he seemed to settle in once he had a few tastings himself. The experience is interesting as... More

Beautiful grounds, interesting history, wine and champagne tasting under an incredible vine covered arbor. Kurt did the tasting, but is also a wine maker and not just a salesman. Classy, no pressure to buy, relaxed atmosphere. Besides some pesky mosquitos (bring a can of bug spray if you are prone to bites), this experience was simply perfect. I'd visit again... More

The vines over the arbor alone are worth the visit. We loved the old green plantings that make a garden of textures instead of colors. The pinots and Chardonnay are delicious.

One of the vineyards we visited during our honeymoon in 2012 - stunning gardens, great views, casual atmosphere and some of the best Pinot and Brut de Noir in the valley. This isn't just a tasting - it's an experience and event and we highly recommend calling ahead to schedule a tasting. Excellent!

By appointment only. $25 advance to hold a spot. A very intimate tour of the Robert Hunter property on Arnold Drive, a few minutes from Sonoma on the way to Glen Ellen. I say "property" because I never saw the winery or winemaking operation itself. Instead, we met and walked through the garden, behind the Hunter home, on a bluff... More

the gardens are amazing the views are wonderful and the wines are Splendid, if you like wines in the French style then this is the place for you to visit. You feel like you are strolling thru a friends garden then partaking of wine on their patio. The Champagne is one of my favorites in the Valley, served very chilled... More

Really liked this vineyard and the historic perspective from the guide/business manager. A very intimate experience, with the widow of the late Robert Hunter stopping in to say hello during our tour. The gardens are historic and the plants are carefully curated from the mistress of the house's private plant collection. Was on the expensive side for tasting, with $25... More

Made an appointment based on past reviews. Great stop! Kurt was a gracious host and took his time to explain the history of the vineyard and the landscaping around the house. Also great chards and sparkling wines. Highly recommend.

After you've done several wineries, seen the vines and vats, you really don't need to see many more. At Robert Hunter we sat in a very nice garden/patio and sipped some excellent wines without the hassle and time of wandering around acres and buildings. I'm glad they charge a little fee, it attracts more interesting people. Be sure to make... More
