We had a lovely tDting of 6 pinots and it was interesting to taste the different types of Pinots based on where they are grown. Our hostess was very knowledgable and made sure we had a good experience. The tasting is $20 and refunded with the purchase of a bottle- they are $40-$65. The whole experience was totally worth it.... More

My wife and I travel from North Carolina to visit California wineries once or twice a year. Although we still love a big Napa cab or Bordeaux blend, we have come to appreciate the subtle qualities of a well crafted pinot noir. Walt Wines has some amazing small batch pinot noirs! With such small production quantities, there was little chance... More

The winery has changed just a bit since Hall bought them, but the thing that has not change are the great wines. All Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and all very well made. The variety of vineyard sources is great for the casual wine tourist. You can try wines from Carneros, Russian River, Mendo and Sonoma Coast. The tasting is very... More

We're been to Walt Wines several times to introduce family and friends to one of our favorite places in Sonoma. It's one of only two wine clubs we belong to because of the consistent quality of their wines. Zeke and Dan add to the tasting experience--knowledgeable, quirky and fun guys.

Scott has been building WALT as probably the most down to earth, highly educated Pinot Noir tasting room on the square for the last 3 years. The wines will knock your sock off, but you won't feel like you need to be an expert to enjoy. Perfect place for the pinot geek to get down next to the newbie -... More

WALT used to be Roessler wines, but is now run by the HALL family of wines. WALT is the maiden name of Kathryn Hall, and this label is named after her parents. The Tasting room is in a small re-converted house just off Sonoma Square. Parking is challenging, as they have no parking lot. The tasting room is very cozy... More

Thank you for the thoughtful review, ricksteveswannabe! I appreciate you taking the time to sample our wines and write about them. I wanted to add a quick note about parking - if you are having issues finding a spot to park, please make use of the two parking spots in front of our building. Otherwise, there is a large parking... If you love Pinot Noirs like I do, the staff is knowledgable and the wine delicious! A MUST visit if in Sonoma, especially if staying in the square

Thanks, Erica! I appreciate the kind feedback. I can take credit for the knowledgable staff, but I I can't take credit for the wine as I just pour it. Well....what the heck, I'll go ahead and take credit for that too! ;) More

We've been to Sonoma a few times and mostly hang around the square as we do not drink and drive. So we've been to WALT a couple times and we are members of their two bottle club. Every time we go Scott, the hospitality manager, remembers us and has always treated us like we were friends. Zeak, works in the... More
