Ram's Gate Winery embodies the convergence of great wine, design and hospitality. Situated at the historic gateway to the Carneros region, Ram's Gate was created with the belief that in a world obsessed with making things faster, where speed is valued above all else, a delicious wine is the way to press pause - to savor and enjoy what we love most. Amidst sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards, we offer a portfolio of estate and single vineyard wines made from the grapes of the region's marquee vineyards. Bottom line...Very good but not great wines at great wine prices. The hilltop setting is beautiful. The rustic/contemporary tasting room building is spectacular. Service was flawless. But if you came for the wine, you won't find great values in their $70-$80 bottles. Too many better wines at this price and lower.

This is a winery definitely worth the visit! Absolutely gorgeous! It is relatively new and the most exciting addition to the Valley. Try to have lunch there as well. Particularly great if you are interested in interior design and architecture.

This is a beautiful boutique winery set on a hillside near the bay. If you don't have enough time to drive all the way to Sonoma and want a real winery experience this is the place to visit. Excellent Chardonnay's and Pinot Noir's, beautiful location, wonderful architecture and professional service. Just a tip - it's not cheap and you MUST... More

If you're in San Francisco, make time for this drive to the sunny valley. The view here is breathtaking. On arrival, we had Ram's Sauvignon Blanc which was perfect for the hot day. For the barbeque we had the Merlot and settled by the pond. This is the charm of the winery; it is beautifully designed and uses the spaces... More

My wife and I visited June 8th, 2015. I had found the winery online through TripAdvisor, then we had an independent recommendation from an acquaintance who lives in the area. We signed up for the Picnic, and we were very happy we did. The location is on a small plateau just before you enter Sonoma proper. From the top, we... More

Extremely fabulous winery with a comfortable atmosphere and outstanding service. The staff, especially our server Brianna, provided excellent knowledge of the wine and grounds. There were three of us sisters with a photo of our recently deceased sister and the staff truly respected our mission to have a sister's weekend. They offered to take pictures for us and gave us... Ram's Gate is a beautiful winery but we were disappointed to be turned away due to not having a reservation. There was no signage indicating reservations required and no mention in the winery guides we had. While I have no issue with making a reservation, it would be nice to make sure customers know that in advance.

Earns our Highly Recommended rating (vs Recommended, Extra Time Permitting or Not Recommended rating). Our first stop on a five day Sonoma/Napa excursion and no other winery matched the class and modern, chic vibe of this winery--and their wines lived up to their presentation. Our wine hostess was young but clearly knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful--one of the best we encountered... More

My fiance and I came to Ram's Gate Winery on our way back into San Fran. It was gorgeous and a great view. There was a bit of an issue with our table, we wanted to move and I guess multiple people asked for the same table. The staff was nice, but a little standoff-ish. I guess last summer it... More
