Ram's Gate Winery embodies the convergence of great wine, design and hospitality. Situated at the historic gateway to the Carneros region, Ram's Gate was created with the belief that in a world obsessed with making things faster, where speed is valued above all else, a delicious wine is the way to press pause - to savor and enjoy what we love most. Amidst sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards, we offer a portfolio of estate and single vineyard wines made from the grapes of the region's marquee vineyards. Open Thursdays-Mondays, 10am-6pm by Appointment

Ram's Gate is a beautiful winery but we were disappointed to be turned away due to not having a reservation. There was no signage indicating reservations required and no mention in the winery guides we had. While I have no issue with making a reservation, it would be nice to make sure customers know that in advance.

Earns our Highly Recommended rating (vs Recommended, Extra Time Permitting or Not Recommended rating). Our first stop on a five day Sonoma/Napa excursion and no other winery matched the class and modern, chic vibe of this winery--and their wines lived up to their presentation. Our wine hostess was young but clearly knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful--one of the best we encountered... More

My fiance and I came to Ram's Gate Winery on our way back into San Fran. It was gorgeous and a great view. There was a bit of an issue with our table, we wanted to move and I guess multiple people asked for the same table. The staff was nice, but a little standoff-ish. I guess last summer it... More

if you're into great wine, beautiful scenery, and Restoration Hardware, this is the place for you. We had our tasting out on the patio where we got an excellent view of the vineyards and rolling hillside. Others were tasting in the tasting bar, which had retractable doors to provide an awesome indoor/outdoor field. If you have 2 people tasting and... More

From the beginning...you have a feeling that this is an impressive place. It does not disappoint. From the views...to the wines...to the staff - all top notch. Sit outside while you drink & eat. You can walk around the pond beyond the vines. OR you can sit inside which is very comfortable. It was a lovely sunny day when we... More

I've been to a number of wineries in Napa and Sonoma, but this is my new favorite! The building and architecture are stunning, including the view off the back patio. It really does feel like a glamorous hotel, and the patio with comfortable couches and tables was perfect for an afternoon tasting. Wines are diverse and all quite good, depending... More

Whether in Sonoma or Napa, there are small, family-centered wineries that offer a more authentic, personal experience and others built in the last 5-15 years to capitalize on the fast-growing wine tourist trade. Ram's Gate is definitely in the latter category, and we prefer the former. Don't get me wrong - the tasting room was stunning and the wine and... More

I went to Ram's Gate winery for an afternoon lunch and tasting. The winery was one of the most beautiful wineries I have been to. We sat in the glassed in area over- looking the vineyards. Lunch was very good and the wines chosen were an excellent compliment. I would highly recommend a visit to Ram's Gate for a wonderful... More

Perfect stop on way out or way back to San Francisco. Best wines of any of the stops we made including ravenwood and Sebastiani

Trish and I had passed by Ram's Gate many a time on our way elsewhere, and a wine marketing friend suggested that we give it a try. First, in contrast to the review below, Ram's Gate is not "members only"; we had no problem making a reservation w/o the burden of membership. While there are "members only" areas and activities,...
