Owner description: Ram's Gate Winery embodies the convergence of great wine, design and hospitality. Situated at the historic gateway to the Carneros region, Ram's Gate was created with the belief that in a world obsessed with making things faster, where speed is valued above all else, a delicious wine is the way to press pause - to savor and enjoy what we love most. Amidst sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards, we offer a portfolio of estate and single vineyard wines made from the grapes of the region's marquee vineyards. Open Thursdays-Mondays, 10am-6pm by Appointment

It was a beautiful day and we went to Ram's Gate to order some wine and some small bites. We were not allowed in saying that the winery, as of Sept. 1, 2014, adopted a "members only" model (wow, that's really doesn't seem to fit with the wine country culture) so we were turned away. We weren't even allowed in... More

Nice buinding in a nice scenario. Good wine and very good food. A little bit noisy the circuit, just in front. Very accurate. Informal

Ram's Gate is one of the few wineries that actually offers a tasting with a picnic. They give you a nice tasting so you can select a bottle of their wine to pair with a picnic lunch. They pack the basket, give you a blanket and escort you out to a location near the pond on their property. The wine... More

This is a lovely winery with a beautiful scenery particularly on a sunny day. We reserved a table in the pavilion and did the flight option. We also ordered a cheese plate, which was delicious! I'd recommend popping in on a nice day. We didn't purchase any of the wines as we thought they were on a the pricey side!

We stopped in over Labor Day weekend without a reservation and only had to wait a few minutes before they found us a place at the bar. We used the time waiting to walk around and check out the beautiful space and patio. We tried one of the tasting flights and the charcuterie/cheese board and enjoyed both very much. Our... More

If you are not rushed for time do the picnic. Before I share our experience with the picnic at Ram's Gate, I need to preface by say the property is beautiful and inviting; and the staff are very friendly and engaging. If you choose a picnic, you start tasting a flight of three wines. You make you selection and then... More

Yesterday was our first visit despite living in Northern Marin County and being about 15 minutes away. We had made a reservation through a contact and were greeted and seated on the patio. Along the way I gathered that they were transitioning to a members only model and in reading the reviews it seems they have not done that transition... More

Did a wine and food pairing for 7 to start a wine n food weekend celebrating my wife's birthday. Place is gorgeous . Tasting not cheap, think $125pp but slow pace, great wine and great and creative food pairings. For us fantastic way to start a trip and worth the cost. Grounds beautiful. Walked to pond. Tasted 4-5 wines. Bottle... More

Beaux1980 wrote that only Ram's Gate charged for a tasting. I'd like a list from him of those, since they are now quite rare in California wineries. In that area, only Jacizzi and Cline (same owners) are free. The standard for high end wineries is now $25.00, but very few are free; and none in nearby Napa Valley that I... More

This is the first winery on the route to Sonoma. They know that and charge $20 or $25 for a taste of 4 wines. Granted, they are great wines, but no other wineries charged us for tasting. We even asked if it was normal in CA to be charged that much per tasting and he told is yes. Good wine,... More
