If you would like to treat your palate to an amazing experience, I highly recommend tasting at En Garde Winery. En Garde is a small winery (under 5,000 cases) with a tasting room in downtown Kenwood. A visit to the tasting room is a complete experience; not only are the wines delicious but no matter who is taking care of... More

This is one of the top places where wine is produced in California. We saw vineyards with different varieties of grapes and a cave where grapes are aged in barrels. We also had the privilege of tasting all sorts of wine from white to red, and they tasted great. For lunch, we headed to the cool town of Sonoma, and... More

Unlike Napa, the vineyards are further apart, and there seems to be less traffic in the tasting rooms. The staff at most were very knowledgeable and helpful.

The world know Napa, but those in the know, know Sonoma! The really special wines of California come from this region.

Coming from DC, Sonoma is the perfect escape from all of the madness. It is a laid back, totally chill, completely friendly, safe, and wonderful place to be. I was only there for 2 days - stoping "on my way" to Carmel for my honeymoon, and yet the whole experience just took me away! After two days there, my husband... More

There is so much to do here and the surrounding countryside is lovely. Would recommend the following; - Sonoma State Park, which includes the Mission, the Barracks, the hotel and also a trip out to the summer ranch of Vallejo outside Petaluna, all for $6 - Sonoma Wine Trolley - an excellent day spent tasting up to 20 different wines... I visited the Sonoma Valley last week with 2 of my girlfriends. What an amazing and relaxing day with great views. Traffic in and out was a little rough. Very classy town and great people working at the wineries. Excellent wine too. I would like to return one day soon.
