First, let me be clear that I'm comparing the experience my partner and I had this past weekend with other luxury hotels in this class, not standard hotel rooms. We stayed Friday and Sat nights and had spa treatments on Sat. For the most part, the property is about what I'd expect: Fairmont is more of an old-world hotel experience... more

We had a very nice spa and lodging experience at the Sonoma Mission Inn. It is a beautiful property, the staff was very nice and helpful, and the spa was great. We stayed for two nights and I would have loved to stay longer. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I recommend one the packages because of the value. My... more

There were so many issues with this hotel and certainly not what I expect from a Fairmont. The rooms were small, we heard noise in the room above us all night, there was no closet space, the entrance to the grounds was shabby, the cleaning crew left their carts in the hall day and night, and the storage room doors... more

I have stayed at three of the higher end hotels in Sonoma (The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa, MacArthur Place and The Sonoma Mission Inn). The Sonoma Mission Inn was probably a fantastic facility when it was first built but now it is struggling for numerous reaons. Here is my take on my recent two night stay; Negatives;... more

Our room was newly renovated, sunny, stylish and very comfortable. I see other travelers have comments about the bathroom, but ours was large, clean, modern, pleasant. The grounds are beautiful, and the spa is outstanding. A wonderful menu of services offered by well-trained professionals. And the pools in the spa area, both inside and outside, are lovely. But everything is... more

My wife and I stayed at the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa for three nights. The general condition of the hotel was disappointing and is not at all reflected in the photos on the hotels Web site. We like staying in historic hotels and understand that the rooms and particularly bathrooms tend to be smaller and might not have the... more

I do not mind paying for a decent hotel, but this one is a bit overpriced for what you get. First at $400 a night for a room, it could have been adequately furnished. The hotel makes available to guests fireplaces in most rooms, however in mine, there was only one comfortable chair in the "sitting area" - so for... more

This was a long awaited getaway for my friend from college and me. We had made the reservations three months in advance and had settled on the SMI because it was the only one that indicated they still had rooms with two double beds available for reservation. But when we got there we were told that we had been 'upgraded'... more

We went for a hastily planned one day/night getaway with some spa treatments. We booked a mission suite, since all they had left were the suites (there seemed to be two wedding parties there). On our first and only night we discovered that whoever was responsible for any sort of sound proofing when building these suites, should have been fired.... more

II think this hotel uses too much make up on their website. Pool: I was intrigued by their photos, especially spa photos, on the internet. The actually place is not like that at all!!!! I could not find any of those beautiful pools as they displayed on the internet. The pools are small, dirty, no color, and surroundings are very... more
