From a red wine drinker

For most - say 90%+ red wine selection over white, I'd like to say tha Rideau makes a fantastic Viognier in the Sanra Ynez Valley.

My wife and I often visit this winery (we are on our way today). Not only do we find their wines to be extremely enjoyable. The atmosphere and customer service place this winery well ahead of the many others that we have visited in the area. The owner is often there to greet you with a warm smile and a... More

I loved EVERYTHING about our visit to Rideau. The tasting room is a delightful French style- the owner is from New Orleans and has brought that feel here. The wines, both red and white, were quite good and they even have some food for sale although we didn't try any. Our pourer, Niki, was wonderful. She took the time to... More

We signed up as club members the first time we visited. Not only do they have great wines, we love everything about this winery - the tasting room, the tapas and their special events (cajun style). Highly recommend to anyone with a taste for good wine!!

Wonderful location, neat to see owner walking about and talking to the guests. The wine was very good and they had some very good values. I would come here in a second for a bridal shower or something like that it looks like it could be wonderful. It also appears that the owner gives the guided tours of the winery,... More

I have been to wineries all over California and by far Rideau Vineyard is the best! Not only are the wines award winning quality but the land itself is beautifully breath taking. The tasting room is inside a beautiful house that is draped in roses and also a historic landmark. The wines are refreshing, very crisp and delicious. Just in... More

We were going to Solvang, the quaint Danish inspired village up by Santa Barbara, so decided to check out the Rideau Winery. It was founded by Iris Rideau who hailed from New Orleans. We had a very pleasant time tasting the wine and chatting with Seth who was behind the bar. The setting is gorgeous and the wine is tasty.... More

The grounds and house are beautiful and worth the trip and the server knowledgeable and pleasant. As far as wines my wife and I differ, she so-so and me good. We both liked the Viognier but at a price point of $40 per bottle (less if you are in the wine club) above my budget. Other wines I liked but... More

We did the tour and tasting at Rideau during our trip up the coast. Shay was our guide, and he was very knowledgeable. He knew a great deal about grapes and wine in general which he combined with his knowledge of Rideau. You are given several tastings during the walking tour of the vineyard and the operations. The tour concludes... More
