Actually the only place in Solvang, were there is Danish heritages, rest of Solvang is in my opinion only a tourist trap. And if those visiting Solvang without coming to this place, and still think they have seen a little piece of Danish history, will be fooled. Oh well, this museum is taken cared of by some elderly sweet people,... More

What a great little museum! This was the perfect way to start our day trip to Solvang. Admission is free, but we gave the suggested $5 donation. The lady who said "hi" to us and showed us around a bit was super nice, told us a bit about the city of Solvang and the people who lived at the house,... More

It's down the street from the main area of Solvang, which is nice since there's lots of parking on the street or in the museum parking lot. The museum is small and well maintained. It was interesting to learn about the history of Solvang and of its Dutch beginnings. One of the museum volunteers moved to Solvang as a child... More

Interesting cozy experience of the preserved Danish house in the neighborhood. Was cool to see the kitchen and the little stove they used . Love yo see all the vintage clothes and furniture. Took you back in time to get a little glimpse of danish living.

This museum really gave us a great history lesson about the background of Solvang. The home itself is lovely and the kitchen is great!

Simply presented, but nicely displayed Danish cultural items and Solvang history. If you are lucky, you might catch a demo by a bobbin lacemaker - that was fascinating to me. Others might prefer the model Viking ship or Solvang diorama.

The museum seems new. There are numerous rooms well done with artifacts. The back room with the diorama is really great. The docent was a sweet lady, dressed in period clothing, but I wish she had not told me the Vikings were in tribes. Only a short walk from town, but easy free parking, so you might as well drive.

Until we visited here my husband was not aware I had some Finnish blood coursing through my veins! A lot of good history and museum quality pieces to be seen here. Loved the painted cupboards in the kitchen.
