The lady at the front desk was very nice, knowledgeable, and even pointed an area for the kids to play while my husband and I went through the exhibits. They have wonderful original antiques from the first settlers and the family who owned the house. There are also interesting Viking artifacts and information.

This museum is well kept and beautiful. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming and informative. It is free although they take donations but it's worth it to get real historical information about the town. It's a little off the beaten path but an easy walk.

My husband and I enjoyed our visit in this beautiful little museum. We learnt about Solvang history and happy to see all the stuff that are nicely maintained - axes, pipes, clothes, furnitures, tools, pictures and the replica of the old town at the back yard. We first came to this museum after our breakfast and were told to come... More

This charming museum presents the early history of Solvang through old photographs, artwork, books, clothing, furnishings, needlework samplers, and farm tools. Lovely landscaping in both front and back yards. The building, an original hand crafted wooden home built by Viggo Brandt-Erichsen and his wife Martha Mott, is patterned after the 18th century Danish manor houses using local materials, Old World... Donation bases, this museum is a converted house. It a perfect blend of living history, and a quiet peek into what life was like 100 years ago in a danish community. I loved the bobbin weaver in the lobby, and the scale modeled of the city in the beginning. You'll leave with a real appreciation of how and why Solvang... More

We enjoyed our visit to this museum. This place has a lot of pictures and artifacts that perfectly desctibe the history of the lovely city of Solvang and enormous contribution of European American people (Danish in this case) in the American cultural mosaic. Curators of this museum are very knowledgeable and the museum is must see for anyone visiting Solvang.

Actually the only place in Solvang, were there is Danish heritages, rest of Solvang is in my opinion only a tourist trap. And if those visiting Solvang without coming to this place, and still think they have seen a little piece of Danish history, will be fooled. Oh well, this museum is taken cared of by some elderly sweet people,... More

What a great little museum! This was the perfect way to start our day trip to Solvang. Admission is free, but we gave the suggested $5 donation. The lady who said "hi" to us and showed us around a bit was super nice, told us a bit about the city of Solvang and the people who lived at the house,... More
