We arrived about 20 minutes before the ranch opened and were greeted by these adorable miniature horses through the fence facing the roadside. They are very friendly and would walk up right to the fence, and a couple of them would even walk with you along the fence. It is absolutely amazing to watch my 14-month-old son interact with such... This is a fun stop when out driving around the beautiful hills surrounding Solvang. Not really anything specific to do, but you can get up close to see the adorable miniature horses. And if you're lucky (like we were!), someone will have one out and walking around so you can pet it and ask questions. I'm sure kids would love... More

I always stop by Quicksilver Ranch when up in Solvang to get my Mini Horse fix. I was a little dis~appointed this time as there weren't to many horses. There were a few babies & a couple of mares & maybe one stallion. I don't know if they are down sizing or if they had sold a lot of their... More

Great place for a quick break for the kids to enjoy seeing these sweet miniature horses. Do not be surprised if the kids beg you to buy one or two to take home. The ranch is free!

Seeing and learning about these miniature horses was a great experience. We were disappointed that the tours are no longer offered but we did have the opportunity to visit with a ranch caretaker who was walking a three month old colt. He explained to us some of the history of the ranch and how it is operated today.

We came across this beautiful ranch on our way to Monterey. Didn't know it was a miniature horse ranch! What a treat to see all the horses within arms reach. My kids were able to pet them.

This is really a beautiful spot and the miniature horses are so cute. But you can't actually pet them or anything, and they seem so used to people that they won't come over near you. It's a great experience for kids, maybe five minutes for grownups and then you're done.
