We weren't expecting to be able to hear mass but we got to the Old Mission Santa Ines church on time for the 11:00am. We even had breakfast before the mass. The Old Mission Santa Ines is a very beautiful old church. The choir was very good and sang well. After the mass, we tour the back lot of the... More

This is a small Mission, well run and extremely tranquil. We could well imagine sitting in the garden reading a book. They charge a nominal $5 for a self guided tour and although we found the commentary a little long, it was interesting enough.

I'm not a history buff but my companion is... This was one of my to do list in my Solvang trip so I gave in. I was surprised because I enjoyed going to their little museum and knowing the history behind the Old Mission Santa Ines. We even attended the morning mass. You need to pay $5 to go in... More

Just one block off the main shopping street of Solvang, this is a peaceful quiet place to spend a half hour or so. The entry fee is only $5 and the pamphlet is worth getting for the information. This is a working mission. The gardens are a great place to sit, watch the birds and just relax

This is a nice mission to visit. It has a walking tour of the gardens out side & a nice tour for a small fee on the inside. This is still a working church~ We have seen wedding's & funerals here. During Danish day's the front doubles as a food court & children game's. The history of this church is... More

Built in 1804, this Mission is considered one of the favorites, maybe because it is nestled in the beautiful Solvang. We came here the last day of 2015. Entrance is cheaper compared to other missions at $5 for adults and free for 12 and under. You can practically do a quick tour for about 30 minutes. You can see different... More

This is a beautiful and interesting mission, right in Solvang. We took many pictures as it is a gorgeous building, a beautiful site and lovely views. There are Stations of the Cross outside along a walkway, and lovely gardens. Although we are not Catholic or even Christian, we felt the Peace and Spirit in this beautiful place.

The original mission traces its origins to 1804. The current site is an on-going restoration of a rebuild dating to the early 1900s. It is a beautiful complex with a working Catholic Church with masses in Spanish and English. The church is lovely with ornately painted altar. Don't forget to visit the beautiful gardens
