The old mission is still in use, and has several out buildings that are used by the church. The grounds are attractive and well kept. There is some interesting history here. There is a Church operated gift store on the site. Nothing special, but if you're on a Mission Tour, you don't want to miss this one.

I have been traveling the mission trail for sometime, and was a little disappointed with this one. I am grateful for the preservation that has bee was done, but SO much is missing! The cemetery has very few headstones left and they had left over ropes tied to cross, and rubbish in the corners. There is only one statue behind... More

I loved the 14 stations of Jesus' walk to His resurrection and the breathtaking views. We are not Catholic, but as Christians, appreciated the history.

My wife and I visited this mission on a Tuesday morning and the chapel was closed for a ceremony so we didn't get to see that. We did tour the grounds, which are very pleasant, and the indoor museum exhibits. This mission isn't as grand as some others (like the one in nearby Santa Barbara), but if you're in Solvang... More

It was the 19th of the 21 California Missions established by the Franciscans. Founded on 17 September 1804, it was named in honor of Saint Agnes. The mission is administered by the Capuchin Franciscan Order. The mission is an active parish serving over 1,200 families performing baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals. The public functions are also performed such as the... More

Enjoyed touring the grounds and mission....so much history. The mission was walking distance from our hotel . The churches carpets were being cleaned but you could still get in at the sides and enjoy.

My wife has vowed to visit all of the missions and this is yet another one of them. I'd rank it in the middle, as it is still in use and looks pretty good. It's also maybe the only thing in Solvang that's worth a visit.
