The church is historic, yet well maintained. There are extensive grounds which include gardens and historic portions of the church. We didn't get inside, but the view through the windows are impressive.

The mission is beautiful setting on a great piece of land just at the outskirts of Solvang, CA. The courtyard is outstanding with the green grass and fountains. We did not make it in time for the Sunday mass it had already started by the time we got there. We took the shelf guide tour which very interesting. The museum... More

The mission is average compared to other California mission we have visited. It is still an active church and presents itself as such. There is no comparison to San Fernando or San Gabriel missions. You could skip this one. The staff at the gift shop where the tour starts may be volunteers since the lady behind the counter lacked skills.

Liked it all, the displays were excellent, the church itself was lovely, very light, and the art work was very interesting.

If you're a history buff this place is a must see. The mission has been beautifully restored and preserved. For the tour of the mission, you have to go through the gift shop and entrance is $5 per person (kids 10 and under are free). A personal tour can be arranged by calling ahead of time and making reservation. Otherwise,... More

Just by chance, I stopped in Buellton, CA for gasoline and after seeing signs for Solvang (3 miles away) I ended up taking the side detour through this lovely charming little Dutch-settled town of Solvang only to end up at the lovely and peace-filled grounds of the Santa Ines Mission! The Mission is so simple and beautiful and you can... More

What a pleasant surprise it was to tour the Old Mission Santa Ines. The mission is very well restored and full of interesting artifacts as seen while taking the well thought out self-guided walking tour. The views of the valley are simply breathtaking. Park in the public parking lot on Alisal Road (located on the east end of the town).... More

We try to visit another of the 21 missions every time we go to California. Santa Ines has a very nice self-guided tour through the church and mission. Lovely grounds and nice gift shop.

Old Mission Santa Ines is at the eastern end of Solvang and within walking distance of the many inns, motels, bed and breakfasts... located along Mission Drive. This mission provides visitors to Solvang with an interesting and very different cultural and historical experience than other area attractions related to the city's Danish heritage. The mission is one of 21 founded... More
