My wife and I are on a tour of the California missions. As a kid I saw many of them but now retired I am going back to see them all with my wife. This was number 2 of the 21. I love the early California history and it is well told through these.

Nothing really special about this place. But we still went to check it out. Walked around in the small gift shop and that's pretty much it.

This is actual California history. We felt like we were back in the time of Fr Serra and celebrated Mass in this very charming mission. The grounds harken back to a time long ago, and made us envision the circumstances (bad & good) leading up to the construction of this and the other 20 missions.

Loved walking the grounds. Took the tour, $5, well worth it. Lots of interesting items inside, including the functioning Church. The Gardens were beautiful. Wanted to visit the Cemetery but it started to rain heavily. Will come back to visit again.

The lively music and friendly priest kept the 5pm evening service very engaging for both locals and visitors.

Good historical artifacts, gift shop, great garden; a great stop if you like the missions. $5 fee was very reasonable.

This Mission has different feel compared to the other Missions. It feels like a church of the people and when we were there the priest was eating with a group on an interior colonnade. There is peace at this Mission which one doesn't feel at the other Missions. The Celtic Cross garden is lovely. A worker in the gift shop... More

Walk the now serene grounds and be transported back to California's most defining and unsettling of times. Old Mission Santa Inez is one of the 21 Alta California missions set up to convert the indigenous tribes and, as such, also served as the military outpost of the area. Built in 1804, this mission has been lovingly preserved. Visit the museum... More

Enjoyed our self-guided audio tour. April is a beautiful time to visit when the garden is in full bloom. An easy walk from downtown Solvang.
