I loved everything about the Mission. from a spiritual historical and architectual level. The paintings and art from Spain and Mexco were awesome and the history of the native Americans was fascinatingI felt that some tourists were a little disrespectful in their dress a nd manner but the employees were kind. Knowledgeble abd feriendly

We visited here several years ago and walked thru the church, museum, gardens and cemetery. Some areas have an audio available that explains the Mission/Church history. Church still operates daily, chapel and gardens are wonderful to see. There is a stations of the cross to see also. Worth your time to stop and see.

It is so obvious that the volunteers at the mission deeply love the place, that I feel a bit cranky in criticizing it. There are many informative exhibits, and except for the cemetery, the grounds are well kept and lovely to walk around. The mission church is pretty, even though it isn't as grand as some. The volunteer staff was... More

Your are given a detailed map of the self-guided tour. Seven stops along the tour have buttons to press to hear detailed descriptions of the room or area in which you are located. The sound is loud enough to clearly be heard by everyone in the room. The museum has artifacts of the area from before the arrival of the... More

When we are close we like to visit the California missions. This is not one of the most picturesque but definitely worth a stop. You enter through the gift shop. non flash photos are allowed. Fascinating to see robes, actual walls (before restoration), the chapel and learn the history.

The Mission is in Solvang's city center, so you don't need to go far or walk with a stroller in the dirt at noon to experience it (as you would have to do if you go to La Purisima mission). In my case, I have two kids (2 and 4 years old) and it really helped to be within "civilization".... More

Smaller Mission. We were on vacation and visited many of the California Missions. We didn't have a lot of time to spend at this mission, so we didn't want to pay to go in. Spent about 10 minutes outside and enjoyed what was outside. From the outside, it looked smaller than many of the other missions. Right at the edge... More

The mission is very close downtown Solvang, CA. Not as grand of an exterior as the mission in Santa Barbara, but still interesting. The self guided tour is $10, which I thought was a bit spendy for as short the tour is. Along the tour are boxes mounted on the wall that have buttons. When pushed, a pre-recorded narrator provides... More

As a fan of California mission architecture, I've always been fond of Santa Ines; but I'm also old enough to remember when the missions looked old. Many of them have been so thoroughly restored, they almost look new.
