Just finished the wooden boat tour and loved it. So much fun history of the area and the characters and the events woven into an exploration of the Sausalito waterfront. Highly recommend. Victoria is great at telling the story of this area and clearly immerses herself in the local culture.

We stopped in San Francisco on our way to Hawaii and decided to spend the day in Sausalito away from the crowded streets of the big city. Victoria's tour was just the perfect choice for a cool, sunny afternoon stroll through the unique wooden houseboats community, topped off with tea and cookies in her design shop. She is fun and... We walked for three+ hours with Victoria (not difficult walking, though), learning of the fascinating history of this wonderful and unique area in Sausalito. I must have taken 200 photos because around every corner were these beautiful, charming, or curious sights of the houseboats and floating boats on the water. And then there were the wooden ships and the boatbuilding... More

Victoria wrote the book (literally) on this colorful, eccentric section of Sausalito. This walking tour was a relaxed meander among the wooden boat house community and the boat building shops of the area. Victoria is part of this unique community and clearly loves it. The tour felt more like a walk through the neighborhood with a friend, capped by tea,... More

Victoria's wooden boat tour is as much a journey through houseboat architecture as it is through time. From the origins of San Francisco and Sausalito, through the shipyard boom of World War II, into the Bay Area culture of the 1960s, up to the artistic regeneration of the area today. All of it very worthwhile and presented by a knowledgeable,... More

Away from the crowded downtown Sausalito where most of the tourists congregate, there is this great house boat or floating home community with unique ornaments and beautiful flowers and shrubs. Interesting to know too there is still the wood boat building in this 21st century! Victoria’s tour made our stay really interesting!

"The stories of the people who created this unique community were fascinating. Victoria makes the entire area come alive. She's knowledegable, full of little details and you can tell she's proud of this area. The most unique tour we have taken. Highly recommended."

My husband and I enjoyed the wonderful perfect afternoon with Victoria our guide. She is very knowledgeable about all the houseboats and homes on the waterfront as well as the history of the area. Everyone should do this tour when you come to the San Francisco area. A must SEE and DO. We will do this tour again. Ronnie &... More

Directions were easy, and so was parking. As for the tour, it was excellent, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I especially appreciated the history and its presentation. So, Victoria brought Sausalito to life me me, the people, the eclectic lifestyles, art, and, yes, philosophy. I recommend this tour and will probably go again, taking more friends with me.... More

My wife and I took advantage of some very unusual January weather to take the tour of the House Boats and the Wooden Boat building operation. Victoria gives a highly entertaining, and informative, tour of these unique homes, and then took us back through the history of Sausalito boat building, ending with a visit to the Wooden Boat building operation...
