Away from the crowded downtown Sausalito where most of the tourists congregate, there is this great house boat or floating home community with unique ornaments and beautiful flowers and shrubs. Interesting to know too there is still the wood boat building in this 21st century! Victoria’s tour made our stay really interesting!

"The stories of the people who created this unique community were fascinating. Victoria makes the entire area come alive. She's knowledegable, full of little details and you can tell she's proud of this area. The most unique tour we have taken. Highly recommended."

My husband and I enjoyed the wonderful perfect afternoon with Victoria our guide. She is very knowledgeable about all the houseboats and homes on the waterfront as well as the history of the area. Everyone should do this tour when you come to the San Francisco area. A must SEE and DO. We will do this tour again. Ronnie &... More

Directions were easy, and so was parking. As for the tour, it was excellent, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I especially appreciated the history and its presentation. So, Victoria brought Sausalito to life me me, the people, the eclectic lifestyles, art, and, yes, philosophy. I recommend this tour and will probably go again, taking more friends with me.... More

My wife and I took advantage of some very unusual January weather to take the tour of the House Boats and the Wooden Boat building operation. Victoria gives a highly entertaining, and informative, tour of these unique homes, and then took us back through the history of Sausalito boat building, ending with a visit to the Wooden Boat building operation... Victoria donned her Captain's cap and lead us on a walk along Sausalito's waterfront and through Sausalito's houseboat district's checkered past. At each stop, Victoria wove the history of current landmarks into an entertaining narrative, allowing us to see the changes that resulted in today's Sausalito. I was especially interested in the WW II stories and the tales of the... More

In depth insights, behind the scenes glimpses, coupled with performance art and informative personal and historical anecdotes, spanning the maritime history and local ship building character, both past and present. Sausalito is unique today due to the layers of maritime history and its personalities...including the singing, flute playing storyteller guide, Victoria Colella! Bravo!!!

We went on Victoria's 3h tour of Sausalito's waterfront. She showed us many layers of this quirky little town, it was an enlightening and entertaining educational experience. She impressed my father-in-law, a self-taught nautical historian, talking about boat-making and styles, kept us at heel with stories, flute music and poems and sent us on our way with a cookie and... I had great fun with Victoria as she regaled me with stories of the beatnik history of some of the classic arks in the Sausalito floating home community. She gave me time to explore a bit on my own, and I would come back to find her playing her recorder in the shade. These homes are so much fun to... More
