Loved this place first time i visited. I visited this twice in my short visit in SFO. I would recommend taking a ferry from the pier this place. I loved the first visit when the weather was cool and cloudy. The second visit was quite sunny (hot) and didn't enjoy it much. Amazing array of food joints and shopping centers... More

We stopped in this cute town a few times on our trip to the San Francisco area. It is a charming small town on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. There are numerous restaurants. Plus many boutique shops. A cute picturesque town. Allow a few hours to browse the shops & eat.

We visited Sausalito while we were in San Francisco. If I would have known I would have stayed here. It is a great place that is really clean. There are some great places to eat and the people were great.

Have been to many beachside and coastal areas in this world but this is certainly not the best. Its pretty commercialised and its definitely catered for tourists. The prices of food around this area are pretty high too, if you are after good quality kind of travelling then this is the place but if you are a backpacker travelling around... More

To tell you the truth, I have no idea where the visitors center is but twice on tours to Muir Woods, they have stopped in Sausalito for us to look through the shops and have lunch. Beautiful views and none of the fog from San Fran. Fascinating how the weather can be so different such a short distance away.

The views. The location.Just getting there is so interesting The awe inspiring drive across the Golden Gate Bridge is an event in itself. This was our first visit, so we didn't quite know what to expect. When we arrived , we were blown away. This place is like the French riveira with an American flair. We will certainly be visiting... Took the ferry from SF Ferry Terminal to Sausilito. Weather was great, therefore, my wife and I were able to sit on the uncovered portion of the ferry to enjoy the boat ride and all the views. Sausilito wasn't crowded since we visited in Nov '13 so we spent a lot of time walking around and stopping in the shops.... More

Sausalito was the hightlight of our visit to the Bay area. Gorgeous scenery and lovely houses. The marina is beautiful and there are great views across the bay. Don't miss a visit here.

We stopped by the visitor center - very friendly and helpful for our short visit in Sausalito. The views can be spectacular if the bay is not foggy. The city of Sausalito has some terrific restaurants, quaint little shops and water front bars and restaurants. We helped the Sausalito economy by buying some neat tee shirts and some other items...
