Located right at the docks, it is a great first stop on your visit to Sausalito. The staff were very well versed on the area and very friendly. We would have taken a 2 mile walk (we have mobility limitations) to see the houseboats if it hadn't have been for their advice. Their map of the city was also quite... More

Catch the ferry at the Ferry Terminal, 30 minutes to cross the bay. Buy the "clipper card" we didn't . It is a lot cheaper than the alternative. The town has cafés, restaurant, art galleries, and sea lion at the dock. The ferry runs ever 30 minutes , last one returns to San Francisco around 7:00 P M.

Very beautiful, cute little town just few miles away from busy San Francisco. Sight of the beach is beautiful and Rodeo beach is very close by. Visitor center has lot of information. You can take a ferry from SF or drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. Nice way to spent your afternoon strolling around the streets and peeping into all... More

Take the ferry from the San Francisco Ferry building to Sausalito then stroll thru the park, dine, shop and have Lapperts Ice Cream! Be sure to take the ferry boat back at sunset or evening for a spectacular view of San Francisco Bay Bridge, City and Oakland Bay bridge. If you have time rent a bike but be aware that... More

If you are visiting SF and have limited time, I would not recommend Sausalito at all. It is small town with nothing to do - just eclectic shopping and eating. The Visitor's Center is a small building with a cute old lady who goes on-and on-and on about how bad the tourist map of Sausalito is and how visitor's do... More

If you are in San Francisco, do not miss a side adventure to the seaside village of Sausalito. Lots of restaurants, almost all on the water with great views of San Francisco, complemented by a large variety of boutique style shopping for trinkets, jewelry, art, or t-shirts. It is a lovely little walking village accessible by car, taxi, or the... More

We visited this little town after a long hike in Muir Woods. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. A lot of the places are a bit pricey but there are some places that are more moderately priced as well. The center square of the town has a pretty fountain and cool lamp posts that make a... More

Wow what a wonderful place to visit, it is a very pretty little town with quirky little shops and great restaurants, with lovely views across the bay. We went across by bus and then took the ferry back to San Francisco, just so we could get different views of the wonderful scenery. Definitely a must see place to visit.
