Sausalito is in California, across the Golden Gate bridge from San Francisco. Sausalito is a unique and picturesque community, perched on a hillside between the San Francisco Bay and the Marin Headlands. We came here after our GG Bridge walk. Totally worth it. Lovely shops.

We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito with our teenage son, then walked all around and back again, the Americans couldn't believe what we had done, but in would recommend you to do it, but Sausalito is a really lovely friendly place. We did go a in May approx 10years ago, but heard it's still the same.

It is a little small scenic village across Golden Gate. It is very easy to reach here. We had to just change our bus from from HOHO tour. It reminded us about small villages in Switzerland. It has got a lot of small shops, eateries, bars etc. Don't miss it when you are in SF.

Sausalito is an awesome little village by the bay just across the Golden Gate Bridge. It has a feeling of Tasmania to it and is extremely scenic. Most common activities include bike riding up to the Battery Spencer point or chilling by the Bay and watching beautiful seagulls. Anyways you will enjoy this paradise especially if you visit in July... More

If you’re in San Francisco, please make time to go here. Really beautiful place & very different to the touristy areas along San Fran’s Waterfront. Very laid back with plenty of eateries / bars / cafés. This was our second visit to SF & glad we made the effort to see Sausalito. The place is easy to get to either... More

Many ways to get to Sausalito, cruise over on a ferry boat from San Francisco, drive, or the way we went. We took the tour of Muir Woods and the bus stopped at Sausalito on the way back. This was the tour Aaron Taylor was the tour guide .If you read my review on Muir Woods you will know how... More

When visiting Sausalito make sure you park in the parking lot(metered parking) behind Viña Del Mar Park, which you'll reach at the end of Anchor St. This location will set you at the center of downtown Sausalito. From here I recommend you head south on Bridgeway St. The best hillside views of Sausalito can be seen from Yee Tock Chee... More

We got the ferry from San Francisco to Sausalito for a day out!! I say day out, we managed 2 hours!! On arrival the town looked very nice, when we started to walk round we found nothing of interest, the shops left a lot to be desired. I suppose if you were looking for overpriced rubbish then this is the... More

We only stopped at Sausalito on our way to and from Muir woods. However, situated at the end of the Golden Gate Bridge with a beautiful bay, a ferry terminal and marina and flying boat and helicopter trips, it is a great place to see. The shopping is interesting and the food is good.

Sausalito its a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the bay area view. You have a lot of shops and restaurants to stroll over and enjoy but the best thing by far is to enjoy the environment and atmosphere around this little bay area town. Is not far away from the Golden Gate and is quite easy to reach... More
