It's an easy tour that doesn't cost anything but really gives a sense of an older time--with the Victorian home, brick walks, restored greenhouse and a variety of plants, some of which were bred by Burbank

The house tour was fun and we enjoyed the giant cactus and other plantings. The volunteer staff guide made a good effort to make the history of Luther Burbank accessable and interesting and the furnishings of the little house were cute. It was a pleasant short stop.

What a wonderful, relaxing place in downtown Santa Rosa that is a Registered National, State and City Landmark! The Gardens are open daily and there is a self guided phone tour you can access. Docent tours run April-October. I was here in March and things were just starting to bloom but I would still recommend going. It's the type of... More

After touring the gardens, I would have liked to tour the house, but only the gardens were open. There was a lot to see in the gardens, including quotations and photos of Luther Burbank, his lovely wife, and famous contemporaries. One could see the impact of Luther Burbank and his wife on Santa Rosa today.

When we hit the road, we never have enough time to do justice to somthing interesting. We go by, resolving to "...stop in next time..." Last fall, we did but did not intend to. We found ourselves in a small cul-de-sac (Grrrrrr) but, as we slammed to a stop: Hey, we know this place. The moment was right and we... More

Right in the heart of Santa Rosa. Follow in the footsteps of Helen Keller and Thomas Edison and make a visit to the "Plant Wizard's" home and gardens. The site is well-preserved. The gardens are nicely maintained and worth a stroll.

what a great gift for a city to have. The grounds were very nice and pleasant, easy access. I enjoyed all the information that was available and the working gardens were very well done, looking forward to seeing it in the spring.

have wanted to visit here for ages. Burbank such an important figure. the garden is a terrific resource and potentially rich, historically. But it was rather sad and tatty. Why put energy into various garden initiatives that are worthy but can be found all over (herb garden ….) rather than into information and displays and plants that are hybridized in... More

We were just passing through and saw the signs for this. We stopped in and found a very pleasing garden setting. The ladies in the gift shop were very helpful and informative.

I was at the walking self guide garden. Interesting plants, but such a mess, made me feel like I needed to get to work. People there did not want to be bothered, unfriendly and repeat- "self guided". So Sorry!
