Right in the middle of town, didn't have tog out of the way to see it. We had an early morning appt. in Santa Rosa and used the opportunity to stretch our legs after several hours in the car. Killed time while developing an appetite for lunch. Although it was fall, there were still roses in bloom along with a... More

Luther Burbank was an amazing man who gifted the world with all types of fruits, vegetables, flowers and other plants. He created hybrids of existing plant-life so that food would be more easily accessible to all humanity. The tour of his home is very interesting and educational and the gardens are beautiful! I especially enjoyed seeing the photos of Mr.... More

The Burbank home and gardens is a lovely place to spend some time in Santa Rosa. The gardens are open daily, with the house being viewable only through a tour. The gardens are nicely manicured, and are subdivided into planting groupings. There are some lovely mature trees, and a gigantic cactus. An interesting insight into this horticulturalist.

Luther Burbank had a gift for which we have all benefitted. This man lived and worked from this home in Santa Rosa, California. He lived a relatively humble life and gifted us with his many experiments and his ability to grow many hybrids in his beloved Sonoma County. This home/museum is worth a visit if you have any interest in... More

A beautiful garden, and an interesting tour of the house and grounds. If in Santa Rosa, or not too far away, you will enjoy your stay here. Be aware that you need to park curbside on the street as this attraction has no parking lot of its own.

We spent some peaceful and interesting time in the Luther Burbank gardens.   Emerson once said “the earth laughs in flowers” and Burbank spent his life relishing that concept.  Luther Burbank was a famed horticulturalist who made his home in Santa Rosa for over 50 years.  On his Santa Rosa garden site and in a nearby experimental garden, Burbank conducted the plant-breeding... Luther Burbank created the profession of plant breeder in the late 1800s. To be able to visit his farm is an important pilgrimage to anyone with a horticulture background. The grounds are well maintained by the City of Santa Rosa and by volunteers. Although the property is smaller than its original size, the remaining grounds do a good job of... More

Located close to downtown, the Gardens are serene & there are picnic spots available. Docents are friendly & offer history of Burbank's many gardening accomplishments. Fun for all family members & they have wonderful plant sales, too.
