This was our last stop for a tasting before leaving beautiful, friendly Santa Rosa. We knew we had reached the limit of wine we could carry on our trip, but wanted to taste (for future purchases!) and were lured by the gorgeous grounds. The tasting bar was busy but we were content to wait, and a lovely fellow soon came... More

My husband and I visited here, and had such a wonderful experience. As soon as you open your car door, you can smell the lavender gardens. The winery is back in the woods a bit, with areas for corn hole and bocce ball. We were greeted by Karli ?; she was such a wonderful host. We sat on the deck... More

This winery was the first on our route. It was recommended by the Fairmont hotel we stayed at and we were not dissapointed. Service was wonderful and the wines as well! The place is just beautiful. Sitting in the lavender fields to relax was amazing! We brought home a bottle that we are saving so we can savor when we... More

We went to Matanzas Creek as we'd heard about the lavender and it was beautiful, as were all the grounds we walked around. The bonus we hadn't expected was that we were able to do a cheese/matched wine and accompaniment tasting. The sun was shining and we sat in a shady corner of the tasting patio enjoying the trees and... More

No trip to the Sonoma area is complete without a visit to Matanzas. We go for the lavender: Acres and acres of beautiful, fragrant, plants buzzing with happy bees. And then we taste the wines! This years selection was superb. Best of all is the experience. All the servers are warm and knowledgeable, eager to share the bounty of the... More

If you like the scent of lavender and the view of the farm/garden and wine tasting; they charge $10 per person; and $20 pp for collections. The best time to visit is at the end or middle of June which is blooming season for lavender plants. Bring your blanket or clothing while you walk through the plants, the freshness of... More

The grounds and winery are a setting for the eyes to behold! The lavender fields are breathtaking and fragrant. The entire experience is so pleasant and relaxing. The staff in the winery is warm and down-to-earth. We enjoy their wine and have been buying one of their Chardonnays for years. It is a great way to spend an afternoon in... More

I had not been to their Winery in over 10 years so made a point of stopping in while in the area for a NASCAR race. I love their merlot and also their whites are OK. The setting is charming and the team in the tasting room was very friendly. I will make it a point to visit each time... More

We spent a long time here enjoying the view, tasting the wines, joining the club, ordering wine, and finding other treasures. This is a great place to go, and the wines do not disappoint. I even bought a few maps like their's and framed them so I could be reminded of the day.

During our vacation we planned 1 day of winetastings. One of the winetastings we did was at Matanzas Creek. Happy we went there! It is beautifully located. Unfortunately the lavender was not blooming, but still it was a very nice area. It was quiet which we actually enjoyed. Next to wine we are cheese lovers as well, so we decided... More
