Beautiful place but kids are NOT welcomed here!!! I dropped by today with friends. 4 adults and 3 kids 3-7 yr. We had wine tasting and liked the blanc. We bought 4 bottles on the spot and were seriously considering getting the estate membership since we enjoy drinking good wines with friends. But the service lady said our kids were... More

After 20-30 yrs of visiting dozens of vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and the Monterey area, we finally came upon the Best of the Best! We had sampled many bottles of Matanza Creek Pinots over the years, so I was familiar with the wine and was anxious to find the vineyard. However, it's tucked away - over a narrow winding road... We did the wine and cheese pairing and we were very happy. Dont know which was better, the wine or the cheese. They did a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab, and Pinot Noir. Each of the cheeses also had an artisan "condiment" to go with them. They also let us taste a couple other Cabs that they had available. Sat... More

Allysa our guide was wonderful... Wasn't a Chardonnay drinker ... Until now:) the Journey Sauvignon Blanc and Sonoma on my permanent wine list. The grounds were breathtaking ... Rival the best in Santa Ynez Valley.

We arrived at this winery one hour before closing. The staff member we got seemed not so interested in getting us set up with a wine and cheese pairing. Some of the other staff members appeared to be more helpful. Our host was pushing us to buy some wine, lavender products, even asked for a tip as we were making... More

We were glad we made it out to this vineyard. The scenery is beautiful and the staff is very welcoming. We had a wine and cheese pairing out on the deck and it was very calm and sunny and we had an enjoyable view of the garden and landscape. If you're a bocce player you could probably spend an afternoon... More

This place should show up on your list if you're willing to explore a bit of Sonoma / Santa Rosa - and it's well worth the slightly-out-of-the-way drive. The tour here is unique due to the extensive lavender fields that Matanza's Creek Winery cultivates. As a result, the tour is roughly the same length as other winery tours but focused... More

The annual Days of Wine and Lavender event is a MUST if you like great food paired with wine! Think gourmet appetizers, including all kinds of oysters, as well as guest speakers, under a beautiful backdrop of lavender fields. Music and games top off this wonderful experience.

I just received our shipment of wine from the wine club at Matanzas Creek and I was reminded of the lovely time we had there this past April. It was not our first time enjoying the winery though. I love the setting. The lavender fields draw us back as well as the wine and staff in the pouring room. We... More

We were staying in Sonoma and I was looking for a great winery to take my husband to. We drove there and it is a ways out of Sonoma (20 minutes?) on a twisty road. Once we arrived we were greeting by Alyssa S. and she gave us a great tasting. We only drink white wine and she went out... More
