Owner description: Santa Monica Place will be designed to reflect the trend-setting, idea-creating, fashion-making appeal of Santa Monica. Here will be a nexus of great retail suited to this one-of-a-kind, world-famous city by the beach. In place of a formerly enclosed, suburban mall, a distinctive, open-air shopping magnet is being created. Santa Monica Place will maximize its beachside setting to bring together fresh ocean breezes, marquee retailers and sun-dappled walkways. Macy's will remain open during the redevelopment of the new Santa Monica Place.

Love this place, there's a Hot Topic, a Disney Store, Bloomingdale's and other cool stores. There's also a food corner with different possibilities to choose.

This mall is awesome! It's architecture is really modern and beautiful. The shops located in are nice and interesting. The food hall has tones of delicious looking restaurants!

Interesting mix of shops and restaurants. Top floor Food Court offers comfortable outdoors seating with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Bay.

We stopped off here for food after the bus journey from downtown, before heading to the beach. There were some nice shops and it was a really modern centre, great to wander around. There was a food court upstairs that had a selection of cheap cuisines to choose from, as well as more fancy restaurants if you want that. We... More

We loved the old Santa Monica Place, so we weren't sure what to expect when it was totally rebuilt a couple years ago. This was our first visit to the "new" Place, and it was well worth the stop. It has a great variety of stores including the top anchors (Bloomingdales and Nordstroms) and the open-air layout is very nice.... More

Loved it so much I came back twice to go shopping and to check out the views of the beach! I first came in the evening and the was amazed at how long the mall was. The setup is great: the shops are long a closed street with twinkling lights and lots of restaurants with outside patios for your to... More

I dislike shopping and malls, however this mall is not painful. Very good selection of stores and places to eat. Parking can be tough but spend the cash to valet which makes it a better experience. You can get deals if you know when the sales come up. I got a good looking shirt at Nordstrom's at 50 percent off.... More

This is a nice place to spend some time when in Santa Monica. Tidy with a great range of stores for all ages. The Disney store was a big hit! When I was there there was an event in the main concourse with sand sculpture and things to do. It had a great atmosphere and with it being so close... More

There was a massive remodel a few years ago on this mall. I was quite unimpressed and a little put off by the fact that the food court was moved upstairs.I know they say it never rains in California, but it does, and an outdoor food court stinks. It seems as if there are less options in the food court as... We were told to go to the mall, insteadofthe promenade.mall was beautiful, open air, 3levels,but we enjoyed the promenade much more. The mall was more upscale, and the promenade which is attached but down on the street, was much more fun and shopping was better, try the promenade, unless u like the upscale shops more!
