Description: The Beach House is a unique community destination, open to all, no...
The Beach House is a unique community destination, open to all, no membership required! With spectacular views, splash pad, playground, gallery, Marion Davies Guest House, beach courts & fields, community & cultural events, seasonal pool, classes for children and adults, free wi-fi, and more, there's something for everyone to enjoy! The Beach House grounds are open daily, including the playground, splash pad, beach area, courtyard, view deck, and volleyball courts. The site upon which the Beach House now sits was originally developed during the 1920s by William Randolph Hearst for actress Marion Davies. The Davies estate, designed by architect Julia Morgan, featured a mansion of 100-plus rooms, three guest houses and an ornate marble swimming pool. Learn more about the Beach House history on a tour of the last remaining Guest House with a Santa Monica Conservancy docent. Classes for adults include yoga, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Beach Volleyball, and Synchronized Swimming. Children can to learn to swim, play beach volleyball, and beach soccer! Our historic pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, during the summer pool season, and requires an admission fee. Between October and May the pool is closed. We will occasionally open the pool on warm weather weekends or holidays.

This is a great find ... bang on the beach, $10 adults, and $4 kids ... you can go in/out all day long, bring your own food/dirinks, but they have a great café/bar on the complex anyway. 100's of sunbeds, and plenty to chose from .. for those who are not excited by sand in your sandwiches, this is a... Santa Monica Beach itself is already stunning. Spending the last couple of hours before we flew home from LAX at the Annenberg Beach House was very comfortable. Very nice swimming pool, very relaxing environment and you're on Santa Monica Beach with the sea at your hands.

You've got everything here - sand play ground for the kids, beach access to Santa Monica (a bit out to the sand but worth the walk), and a bonus splash foundation area that kids can't get enough of!

Have you ever wanted to live at the beach but ... or belong to a private beach club but ... This is a place you can make seem like home or your private club and let the kids enjoy a swim and enjoy the beach and at the end of the day you don't have to pay for it or... More

We were visiting LA and I found the Annenberg Beach House on tripadvisor. It was a great place to park the rental car for the day, have a nice spot to eat lunch, place for the kids to play, and restrooms. Because the parking lot was so close to the beach I was able to make several trips and leave... More

They offer a lot of things here but you need to read the website. There are art showings, plays, volleyball and the pool and of course the splash pad for the young kids. There is also a cafe next door and you can tour the Marion Davies guesthouse from the times of Chaplin and Hearst.

A great place to take visitors. Friends came in from out of town and I wanted to give them a great CA experience, so I took them to Back on the Beach at the Annenberg Beach House. It was on a week day so it was not crowded. We were seated on the patio and had a great lunch while... More

Outdoor seating is covered so not too hot, it has an adjoining playground & pool for the toddlers & kids which is great. They can join you for eating or go play while you dine. Food is good, hamburgers & fish & fry's. We made our way there from Ocean drive, down a lot of stairs onto the beach then... More

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
