Riverbench Vineyard was established in 1973, when its first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes were planted on the property. For years since then, some of the most renowned wineries in Santa Barbara County have purchased our fruit for their own wines. Over time Riverbench has become a prominent name for high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Santa Maria Valley. In 2004, a group of local families purchased the property. Wine drinkers themselves, the owners quickly became enamored with the wine industry and decided to start producing their own wine label using small quantities of their exceptional fruit. Riverbench Winery was born. The first vintage included both Estate and Reserve versions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Since then, our portfolio has increased to include new interpretations of these noble varietals. All Riverbench wines are made in limited quantities, and many are available exclusively through our tasting room.We are a Santa Barbara Green Business!

Riverbench does a great job. We used to belong to at least a dozen wine clubs but eliminated all but two and one is Riverbench because of their good wines and nice people. There is one winery up the road that employs snotty people. Life is just too short for bad attitudes.

We absolutely love everything about this winery. We are wine club members who love visiting so much that we drive from San Diego to pick up our shipments in person. The tasting room is a beautiful 1920s craftsman style home in a most beautiful setting. The wines are exceptional! Amber is the nicest person you will ever meet at a... More

I'm giving this winery a 4 for the excellent setting. As the name implies it sits next to a river bench in a beautiful farming area of the Santa Maria Valley just below Foxen Canyon. The grounds are beautiful with lush lawn and oak trees a perfect setting for a picnic. Make sure to hit the Garey Store (see my... More

The wines were really fantastic, and we stopped with our lunch and enjoyed a chilled Chardonnay that we had just purchased, and had a wonderful time.

Visited this as our first port of call on the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. (The name of this somehow managed to get transposed to "Divergence" in our seperate review of the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail) We were made to feel very welcome here and had the "ropes" explained to us (this was our first experience of WineTasting) and were introduced... Riverbench is off the beaten path, far up the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, almost to Santa Maria, so most tourists miss it. They offer a great old Craftsman-style location, dog-friendly, and average wine. Worth a trip out of the way.

We had a lovely wine tasting at Riverbench. The $15 wine flight offers a good selection of wines from rose to white and then red. Amber and Faith were very informative about the grapes and the winery generally. It is set amongst the vineyards so is very picturesque.

Lovely setting - recommend bringing a lunch to enjoy out on the patio. The Reserve pinot and the One Palm Pinot stood out. Rest of the tasting wines were solid . Tasting fee is $15/6 wines. Very reasonable.

We have become Riverbench wine club members because they do such a good job with their wines and hosting their winery. Every year we have had a complimentary lunch when we have visited the winery paired with the wine tasting. The pinot noir and chardonnay are in a class above others. In the good old days, we were wine club... More
