The crew made a great effort on what was a lack luster day for whales. Since they are wild creatures it's hard to predict where they will be. Props to this experienced crew for finding one whale which we watched for about an hour. Very cool. The bonus was on the way back we went just off the beach at... More

We had an amazing time whale watching. During the trip out into Monterey Bay, we saw two whales, hundreds of sea lions, and thousands of jellyfish. It was hard to not be completely amazed by that alone, but the best was yet to come. When we reached the spot off Watsonville where all of the activity was happening, we saw... More

Monterey bay is a perfect feeding place for the humpbacks this time of year as evidenced by this trip where we got to experience a pod of nearly 20 humpback whales. They were stunningly beautiful and we got to see lots of behavior including three breaches. The captain and docent were knowledgeable and the steward was mature for his young... More

We hadn't planned on a whale watching tour, but decided to leave the Sacramento area for a couple of days and head to Monterey and Santa Cruz. We are so glad that we did. It is amazing to see these creatures in their natural habitat! We were fortunate enough to see about 30 whales and at one point, they were... More

Very good! Saw a lot! Got lucky and we saw blue whales and humpback saw a breach and a flap and even heard the noise they make before shooting up the water while they breathe. It was awesome the crew was great! The naturalist was very knowledgeable and terrific! Also lots of tails as they go down into the ocean!!

The half-day fishing trips on the Velocity are a great way to get on the water and enjoy the Monterey Bay near Santa Cruz. In general, I believe the fish most people will catch on the half-day rockfishing trips are going to be smaller on average than those caught on a full day trip because the reefs they are fishing... I have been to SJ seven times in last nine years and curse myself that I missed it. 4 hours of excitement multiple whale spotting. Excellent guidance. I suffered from sea sickness but the guide and crew was very caring and supportive. A+ experience. I will revisit but have avomine prior to the trip.

Great view from the second floor. Santa Cruz boardwalk on one side Steamer ' s lain on the other. The food is the fresh and the portions sufficient. I go for the smoked salmon.

Firstly, it was easy to talk to them on the phone to get more information. Also even though I made a reservation for 7, two of us could not go because of illness and even though they were not full (ie they could not resell our seats), after discussion with the owner, they gave us a refund for the two... We just got back from a half-day fishing trip with Stagnaro, and had an amazing time. We paid the extra for the poles and rigging, as well as a one-day license. Arrived at the dock at the appointed time, and the Velocity - beautiful and comfortable boat - boarded and off we went. Sunrise was spectacular, and we were in... More
