In winter, the drive is generally quiet. In the summer, be prepared for much foot and vehicle traffic if you stay in a hotel overlooking the drive. It is the easy access to the Wharf, Boardwalk, Surfer's Museum and points beyond.

This is one of our favorite places to walk. Stop to watch the surfers or otters frolicking. There's also the surfers museum if you're so inclined!

Sunsets and moonrises can be viewed from this gorgeous trail on the water. A must-do activity if in Santa Cruz!

We rented a house on W. Cliff Dr. for a week long family reunion. We were 2 miles from the wharf & 1/2 mile from Natural Bridges State Park. Once we parked our car we didn't need it until it was time to drive home. The path / trail along W. Cliff Drive is amazing...always something to see....otters, seals, dolphins,... More

It was easy to park and walk as much as you liked. The views of the water and the sunset were what you want from a coastal Ca. city. Lots of people just relaxing and enjoying the ocean breeze.

I have been there twice in the early morning and it is a wonderful place for a morning walk. Stop by to enjoy the view and there are plenty. The waves are amazing, not outstanding but enough to keep the surfers happy. If you are heading towards Nature Bridge from the boardwalk, lookout for a place around three four bends... More

Everyone must take a walk on West Cliff Drive once or a hundred times in their lifetime! Walk, bike, jog or stroll it is a beautiful view. Park your car inland in the nieghborhoods and then head right to the cliff. Easy walk for anyone.
