Great spot for a lesson and Rick was a terrific teacher. Unlike instructors I have elsewhere (and in other activities), he limited the instruction to a few key points and that made all the difference.

I would highly recommend a surf lesson with Club Ed. They were very passionate about surfing, experienced, and attentive. Our instructor was encouraging and calm, and we had a very successful lesson!

I was in San Jose for business and had an extra day. I figured, why not do some surfing. So, I gave them a call and had a lesson set up the next day at 7am. Rick was the guide and the lesson went great. I was able to get up and ride some waves right from the get go.... More

Surfing at Cowell's beach in a group lesson. I was visiting the area and emailed Ed on Friday evening. He set me up with a lesson Saturday afternoon, really went out of his way to help. I've had lessons with two other Santa Cruz companies, and Ed's was definitely the best so far. He explained things in a very clear... More

Learn to surf, surf lessons, learn to rip and get better. I tried them all before moving permanently to Santa Cruz. I liked the people I met at Club Ed Surf School in Santa Cruz. Patient instructors - actual surfers that can rip in real life.

Club Ed is great. I didn't give it 5 stars because it's camping and if you don't like camping, well, you won't like it. But it's such a great community and Ed has a lot of people working with him. They even had a massage therapist for the kids so they weren't as sore. Ed comes from a long line... More

This is my third time surfing with these guys. Instructors always super knowledgeable and extremely funny. A lot of patience from these folks, too. The locals respect Ed and so we were welcomed into whichever breaks he took us to. I keep coming back!

Booked with Ed at the last minute but they were still able to accommodate me. It was my first time surfing and Emily and Ed were very patient. Had a really good time would definitely recommend them if you are a first timer. They spent a lot of time and we got some really good instruction. I was surprised I... More

I arrived in Santa Cruz with a vague notion of its association with surfing and a very loose plan to try my hand at it, or rather my hands and feet. I only had one night here but at extremely short notice Ed and Monica were able to set me up with a two hour tutorial with Rick thefollowing morning.... More

My first time surfing and Ed got me up on the board and riding the waves in the first hour. He made sure I had a great surfing experience, from a to z and gave me much more time than the two hours I had booked. He was professional and fun and had a lot of respect from fellow surfers.... More
