Come for the wine...stay for the Aloha! Is it possible to make the intangible, tangible? To define love, or to capture the feeling of a sunset? That's the challenge when it comes to MJA. It's not just a destination, it's an experience that goes beyond the wine, mixed with the aroma of chocolate & Kona Coffee, the setting and the people... It's the Aloha! Actually, we handcraft around 8000 cases of our Aloha each year, right in our Westside Cellar in Santa Cruz. We sell our wines directly from our Tasting Rooms because our philosophy is that we want you to be able to buy the highest quality wine that we can produce at the best value possible. That's why we offer everyday specials such as "take 4 bottles for the price of 3", and 20% off everyday for our Kahuna Wine Club Members, and 30% off on club pickup days. And our 100% Kona Coffee that Marin (he's the MJA) grows on the Big Island of Hawaii, was voted as America's Best Coffee by Forbes Magazine. It too is only available at MJA of course! We roast it fresh each week at our Summit-Los Gatos Tasting Room & Vineyards. Come on up any Tuesday afternoon, grab a glass of wine and see how we do it. We're also open 7 days a week, so you can come any day and sink into our overstuffed chairs by the fire or watch the wildlife on our wooded patio...a perfect getaway right in your backyard! Or if flip flops, a hoodie and some great story telling is more your style, our Westside-Santa Cruz Tasting Room & Cellar is in the hip industrial portion of town, a few blocks from the Natural Bridges Beach with outdoor fire pits and comfy chairs on the lanai. A perfect pairing with the ocean breeze, a bottle of our handcrafted wines and a bag of Marin's fresh roasted Kona Coffee to go. Who needs Napa? Escape to MJA!

We were driving to Santa Cruz from the bay area and checked into "Things to Do" in Santa Cruz. Came upon this winery and stopped in to check out their Aloha! What a fun day. The staff was awesome and the experience was so fun. I joined their wine club and enjoyed their reds! Some of them are young but... More

This may be a great experience for those that are new to wine tastings, but my boyfriend and I (who go to wine tastings often) were quite underwhelmed. We found that the wine wasn't very pleasant--too strong of an alcohol taste. Not many memorable wines, although they do have cute names. The tasting room itself felt very crammed; if you're... More

I really enjoyed the time spent here, when I got in there were full and only 3 hosts so I was not sure I would get help but yes I did and by a very helpful and awesome host, he actually came to the other side of the counter and greeted me with a smile and explained about the tastings,... More

I enjoy visiting and taking the wine in the Santa Cruz West Side location and the one also in the woods in Soquel, Los Gatos. Nice people working behind the counter serving the wine, they're very knowledgeable and there's always live music which adds the ambiance.

My husband and I were driving on Summit road when we came across this small cabin that offered wine tastings. Honestly, I thought it looked a little sketchy, by we were pleasantly surprised! I absolutely love this place! The pours are generous, the wine is delicious, and the staff are super friendly!

My boyfriend and I read the great reviews and decided to check it out during our one day trip to Santa Cruz. A special mention for John who was so welcoming and let us try so many wines before we decided on which one we wanted to have a glass of! We were accommodated in every way and had great... More

I tried Napa, yet again....a string of cars, big time wineries, crowded tasting rooms! $20.00 + for a flight of average wines. Santa Cruz, ahhhh, nice beach atmosphere, fresh air and great wine. MJA has it all, fantastic wines, fun environment and top notch service. An outside patio, where you can actually sit and enjoy your vino. No rush, no... More

Maybe it really isn't a secret for Santa Cruz residents, but for visitors, this is the place to do your tastings. I'm so glad we didn't do a pricey wine tasting tour. This place had a very afforfable tasting, great wines and an Aloha feeling. This is a hidden treasure in Santa Cruz.

Get a membership. Super reasonable. Awesome selection. Nothing jaw dropping, but a laid back atmosphere to try things at your own pace, regardless of the package you choose. They make you feel like a regular and their favorite customer. Inside and outside seating.
