Description: Come for the wine...stay for the Aloha! Is it possible to make the...
Come for the wine...stay for the Aloha! Is it possible to make the intangible, tangible? To define love, or to capture the feeling of a sunset? That's the challenge when it comes to MJA. It's not just a destination, it's an experience that goes beyond the wine, mixed with the aroma of chocolate & Kona Coffee, the setting and the people... It's the Aloha! Actually, we handcraft around 8000 cases of our Aloha each year, right in our Westside Cellar in Santa Cruz. We sell our wines directly from our Tasting Rooms because our philosophy is that we want you to be able to buy the highest quality wine that we can produce at the best value possible. That's why we offer everyday specials such as "take 3 bottles for the price of 2", and 20% off everyday for our Kahuna Wine Club Members, and 30% off on club pickup days. And our 100% Kona Coffee that Marin (he's the MJA) grows on the Big Island of Hawaii, was voted as America's Best Coffee by Forbes Magazine. It too is only available at MJA of course! We roast it fresh each week at our Summit-Los Gatos Tasting Room & Vineyards. Come on up any Tuesday afternoon, grab a glass of wine and see how we do it. We're also open 7 days a week, so you can come any day and sink into our overstuffed chairs by the fire or watch the wildlife on our wooded patio...a perfect getaway right in your backyard! Or if flip flops, a hoodie and some great story telling is more your style, our Westside-Santa Cruz Tasting Room & Cellar is in the hip industrial portion of town, a few blocks from the Natural Bridges Beach with outdoor fire pits and comfy chairs on the lanai. A perfect pairing with the ocean breeze, a bottle of our handcrafted wines and a bag of Marin's fresh roasted Kona Coffee to go. Who needs Napa? Escape to MJA!

Maybe it really isn't a secret for Santa Cruz residents, but for visitors, this is the place to do your tastings. I'm so glad we didn't do a pricey wine tasting tour. This place had a very afforfable tasting, great wines and an Aloha feeling. This is a hidden treasure in Santa Cruz.

Get a membership. Super reasonable. Awesome selection. Nothing jaw dropping, but a laid back atmosphere to try things at your own pace, regardless of the package you choose. They make you feel like a regular and their favorite customer. Inside and outside seating.

This tasting room is well put together and has nice staff and service. The wine is well made and of good quality. Definitely a pleasant place. However, it's hard not to compare this location to some of the relatively nearby wineries of Napa and Sonoma.

We stumbled on MJA in Feb and made a point of coming back to try another flight of wines. The measures are generous so it's not possible for me to do more than one flight (6wines) at a time. For $8 it's a bargain. The wines are full of flavour. All very different and expertly described. The staff are so... More

We happened upon MJA Winery recently and were happy we did. We sat outside on a deck in the beautiful weather while the owner, Marin, did the pouring himself. He provided lots of interesting information about the wines themselves as well as his journey as a winemaker. The wines were really quite good overall; we left with several bottles in... More

Marin Artukovich makes some wines that I really like. He makes the best local and Napa Valley wines for my taste. I highly recommend joining in the fun of his wine club and the events he puts on. p.s. he makes his own Kona coffee from his plantation on the Big Island.

Excellent wines from the local area as well as some top end wines from his vineyards in the Napa area. Very friendly owner as well as the staff at both his Summit and Santa Cruz tasting rooms. There is almost always an "Aloha" greeting as you walk in the door. Joining the wine club gives you great wines and benefits.... More

If you want to taste wine in Santa Cruz area this is a must. The wine is superior and the staff is wonderful. Marin and staff are very attentive and pour generous pourings. There is a patio if you want to hang out for awhile and visit with friends or if chilly there is ample bar space for tasting. We... More

We live in town and some friends encouraged us to taste here. We picked up lunch at New Leaf next door and sat outside in comfy chairs. The owner, Marin, poured and personally brought each tasting out to us. He engaged conversation and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What we thought would be a half an hour turned into three hours,... More
