This is a great little "old" fashioned theater, but up to date and comfortable. Concessions are great. It's a theater where you feel like you are part of the movie community rather than the big business of Hollywood.

The Nick is "our" place to see the best movies out there. Probably most of the locals feel this way because we keep running into friends and neighbors there. The owners keep updating the theaters, making them comfortable and clean. The two larger venues are our favorites, but we've enjoyed outstanding films in the tiny theater too. The nicest feature... "The Nick" consistently provides access to indie films and other art-type films, as well as a discriminating selection of contemporary film releases. The atmosphere is low key and intimate. A great place to relax and enjoy the film without a lot of distractions. Also, nice discounts for seniors at the early performances!

The popcorn is good here as is the coffee. The staff is friendly, the movies are excellent, and the theaters are intimate.

If you like movies about SOMETHING, not endless car chases with no point to them, then you need to check out the lineup at "The Nick" for the best independent and foreign films. AND they have a senior discount if you show up at the right time. Often movies shown here are the ONLY place you will find them. Plus... More

Best theater in town, shows independent and forgiven films. Recent remodels have made the Nick very comfy.

The Nickelodeon is conveniently located in downtown Santa Cruz off of Pacific Avenue. They screen movies that are often not shown in the larger chains. There's a mix of sizes for the screening rooms, so they're able to show a variety of films including those that may not attract a large audience. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere welcoming.

Love this little theater. Cozy and intimate. Love the movies they chose to show. It's just a neat place to go to a movie.

The Nickelodeon Theatre located in downtown Santa Cruz has always been a favorite of mine. They feature films that the other large, multi-plex theaters do not show. They have several small theaters with very comfortable chairs and a quaint atmosphere. Even the snacks have always been different than the usual movie going snacks. My very first visit back in 1978,... More
