For years I have enjoyed watching the Masters and admired a beautiful layout of a course. I'm sure every golfer is familiar with Augusta National. What I was not familiar with was a course named Pasatiempo Golf Club. When I read that Alister MacKenzie considered Pasatiempo his favorite layout, I was intrigued. Playing this course was quite an experience. The... More

Played on June 3. Pretty course- not long from white tees. Pretty good shape. Sad to see all the homes around the course with dry lawns or no lawns. Cost 225 approx- plus 64$ for a cart for two. I think it's a very good course but too expensive.

The drought has not taken a toll on this course like other reviewers have said (see my pics!). This course was absolutely amazing. It was designed by Alister Makenzie (Augusta and Cypress Point) and he lived and passed away on hole 6. The back nine here is particularly incredible. Easy to see why this course is ranked #3 in all... More

I've been reading and hearing about some of the reviews of Pasatiempo online. As a former club champ and someone that plays the course several times a year I have to have a word here. Yes, the drought has had some impact on the golf course.....but it doesn't effect the overall playability of this gem and in some ways makes... More

This is one of my all time favorite golf courses. That being said, the drought has caused a lot of damage to the course. The tee boxes are watered as are the greens, but the rest of the course is mostly dead grass and dirt. The greens are kept a little too long to prevent them from drying out, thus... More

I consider this course ne of the best kept secrets in Northern California. Alister MacKensie lived on the property. The greens are unbelievably fast with very large breaks. It's about a close to Augusta as any of us are going to get.

I recently played this course - September 22nd. Due to the drought they have lost a significant amount of their fairway and almost no ruff exists. At this point the course is not worth the $235 to play nor is the $50 incentive to come back worth it. This course is now equivalent to a municipal course in Tucson which... More

I do NOT recommend this golf course in this condition. Even at the so called discount, they charge $200 on the weekend. Of course they do offer the special price of $64 a twosome for a cart LOL. Regardless, the water rations are a huge problem. I'm not blaming the course for that, we just don't agree with Pasatiempo's policy.... More

Alister MacKenzie. Augusta National, Cypress Point, Lahinch ... and Pasatiempo What more needs to be said? At the moment the course is very brown due to the severe drought in California. Who cares? The greens and tees are in great shape and the brown fairways provide more roll! MacKenzie's greens are the defense of the golf course and they are... More

Pasatiempo Golf Course is a combination of long greens and hill course. It is a fun course to play. With the cool breezes from the ocean it is a nice course to play on a summer day. The golf coruse was designed by Alister MacKenzie. It is a semi private club. They do set aside certain times each day for... More
