My kids and I (17, 23 and 25) had never kayaked, so I looked online and contacted Dave with Venture Quest. We left out of Moss Landing. He met us there (right on time), and did a great job explaining how to kayak and what we would be doing. He got us all set up and we went about 2... More

My boyfriend and I went on a whale watching tour on 8/29 and had a blast! We saw about 20 different whales among other wildlife at sea (including otters & seals). Dave was a great guide--very knowledgeable & experienced. Touring the Elkhorn Slough after sea kayaking was fantastic too, I'd highly recommend doing your kayaking tour with Venture Quest!

My teenage daughters both went on a guided kayak trip with Kevin and had a great time. Plenty of time was spent explaining how the kayaks work and how paddle, etc. Once all the kayaks in the group were in the water, they got more than the two hours of time that they expected. It was a great day and... More

Just got back from a fun short trip to Santa Cruz, CA. A highlight was renting a kayak from Oliver and Kevin at Venture Quest Kayaking right on the famous Santa Cruz wharf. I had never kayaked in the ocean - only in lakes and rivers. Thanks to the Venture Quest Kayaking experts tips and top rate equipment - it... More

We had a great time with this company yesterday, Spent about 2 hrs in kayaks around the Santa Cruz warf . Kevin, our Irish guide, was amazing. We got to see sea lions basking on the platform beneath the warf itself while we were in the water. Then while in the kelp beds we saw sea otters, harbor seals, and... More

We did this on a Groupon, but it is certainly worth the full price. Excellent equipment, instruction and location for kayaking. Our guide, Kristen was well versed in all the marine life, seals, sea lions, otters, birds. And there were hundreds all around us. Will definitely come back again.

You can come as you are on a whim. They have waterproof clothes you put over your clothes and booties. You launch from out on the pier so no waves or surf landing. Nice tour with knowledgable guides. Saw so much wildlife and can watch the surfers from their level. Ask for Bill. He made us feel safe.

What an experience. Arrived at the location met by friendly professional staff. Kitted out with good quality equipment and briefed on safety and wildlife rules and regulations by our tour guide Nicole .Launch from pier requires some agility as when low tide you have to climb down several feet on ladder into kayak. This was not a problem as Nicole... More

We booked the Caves tour via email then switched to Elkhorn Slough and are happy we did, There were two groups of 5 and they had two guides. We saw seals, otters, sea lions, dolphins and many birds. We even tried following a whale boat to see whales but it was too far out. The tour was great for the... More

My sons and I had a fantastic three hour guided tour of the bay with a guide called Wade. Throughly knowledgable guide to the waters we kayaked. We saw numerous sea lions, rare harbour seals very close to our kayaks and best of all sea otters with young after we stopped in the kelp forest. If you only do one water... More
