The venerable Santa Cruz Boardwalk is over 100 years old and features a roller coaster built in 1924, but don't let its age fool you into thinking it's over the hill. It's got something for everyone from thrill rides to kiddy rides, tasty treats, swimwear and other merchandise for sale, arcade games, and even an indoor miniature golf course (featuring... More

We had a great time visiting the SC Beach Boardwalk. It was spring break and the Boardwalk was jammed pack with people. The beach was filling up too, as the sun was coming out. The Boardwalk is just one big carnival... with its main attraction being THE BIG DIPPER, an old wooden track roller coaster that has been restored to... More

Happened to be here last weekend along with friends and family and it is a fun place. Make sure the weather is sunny when you plan to go there... as the wind along side the beach would be quite chilling during cool weather. The rides along side the beach add and extra fun factor to the whole experience. Parking is... More

The Main Beach in front of the boardwalk is a city-owned beach; it's not part of the boardwalk. So you don't need to buy anything to use the beach. I think sometimes out-of-towners don't realize this. But why would you WANT to visit this beach when there are so many other beaches in Santa Cruz. If you have kids, it... More

I'm a local here in Santa Cruz, and still go to the Boardwalk several times a year. The boardwalk is the centerpiece of Santa Cruz attractions. Great rides for all ages, but mostly centered on youngsters. The roller coaster "The Giant Dipper" is a must, a historical coaster where you can see memorable photos of famous people who also went...
