No surf when we visited but good beach

Nice beach - quite crowded and no shade. Usually has good surf but was flat when we visited so went paddle boarding instead!

Fun beach but a lot of trash. Kids had a blast swimming and enjoying the fun crowds. Boardwalk is great too.

The main beach of Santa Cruz is very nice as it can be reached by foot from many of the many nearby hotels/Motels. The sand is very fine and comfortable to walk on. If you don't like to much noise, avoid the Boardwalk area. You will find everything that makes a beach visit comfortable, i.e. Restrooms, washroom, lifeguard, etc.

Beach is very beautiful with enough width and length for full enjoyment. The waves are less frightening and children can play safely with life guard around. There is a small theme park with things such as roller coaster , merry go round, cable cars ,shooting games and lots of other similar games to keep children very happy. Weather is very... More

Fun people watching beach on the bay. The views are wonderful, the wharf, Boardwalk, lighthouse, surfers and everything you would hope to find. Wake up early and take a walk. You might be lucky enough to fine a sand dollar. Only dislike is there are homeless who sleep on the beadh, but are gone once the sun comes up and... More

The ocean water gets warmer than the rest of Northern California beaches. Equipped with lifeguard and toilets and washrooms at the beach area. The beach is also walk distance away from many hotels, cafes, restaurants, children amusement area/parks and sea lions feeding area. The beach is also good for swimming and surfing.

This is a very beautiful California beach. It is usually quiet and tranquil according to the locals. It can get cool in the evening, so be prepared.

By far the most popular beach in town, it tends to get overcrowded because of the Boardwalk, and it has a heavy beach break, which means the waves raise up right there and crash heavily on top of you, no surfing or body surfing or swimming really possible most of the time. But they do have free concerts in the... More

What started as just lunch, turned into a dream 4 day stay... one night contained a movie on the beach...the rides were fun, watching Lost Boys while sitting in the sand, while the screen was full with where we were sitting..was truly amazing.
