I love the sand on this beach! It was relaxing to let the kids play and take in all the sights around us. There are seagulls and it is a bit crowded but I would definitely return. The water can be pretty powerful (it is the Pacific ocean after all) so I didn't let the kids go out too far... More

I have gone to this beach once a week for the past 2 months. It is a very nice beach. As the summer goes on it definitely gets more and more crowded. There is a boardwalk. If you purchase the season passes it is definitely worth the price, just get there right when it opens so the lines are not... More

I've been to the boardwalk and wharf at Santa Cruz. On a recent trip, the weather was perfect and we found a nice spot on the beach. It was relaxing. However, the boardwalk is so crowded that its hard to move without bumping into people. The food is overpriced but I tried the crab garlic fries and they were excellent.

The beach was filled with birds and sea garbage, as well as, garbage from beach combers. We have been on a lot of Ca beaches and have to admit that this was one of our least favorites. However, you can post up for the day, but be fore warned this is not the cleanest beach in CA.

Boardwalk is always nice to walk around and check out the rides and food, except it is very crowded. Walked around for little bit and decided to check our wharf and other beaches, much better experience for our family but still a great place to visit.

I have been going to this beach since I was a kid and I've always felt safe here - even though you will definitely see your share of homeless people and somewhat "shady" characters who may ask you for money or try and sell you something, there is generally a lot of security and police presence and like any tourist... Didn't like the seaweed and I thought the water would be warmer in July but the beach was nice, there was plenty of room to sunbathe .

A day spent at the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk is a fun day for everyone. While this is a busy beach the boardwalk makes it all worth it. The boardwalk has carnival games, roller coasters, mini golf (inside), laser tag and bowling. The purchase of unlimited rides with 2 attractions is under $35. A very good deal. There are... More

The San was soft, there weren't any shelles for my kids to collect but oh well... I really wish the city would do something about the homeless it was time for us to leave when a homeless couple began bathing in the ocean right in front of my kids...

Great beach, but no waves at all. This is a nice beach. What I really like about it is seeing the boardwalk in the background. There is not too long of a walk to the actual water, and bathrooms and food galore are right where you can get to it easily. Take a stroll on the wharf and go down... More
