No surf when we visited but good beach

Nice beach - quite crowded and no shade. Usually has good surf but was flat when we visited so went paddle boarding instead!

Santa Cruz Main Beach, Santa Cruz, CA - The beach area of Santa Cruz is a beautiful setting located adjacent to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. There is lots to see & do in the area, including the Surfer's Museum, the Boardwalk, the scenic drive and lots of restaurants. A great area for a daytrip or a weekend getawa.

Family friendly, clean and easy access to the water. The water was a bit cold, but we saw dolphins, otters, and sea lions while we were there! Loved it!

The Santa Cruz Main Beach is very nice for sun bathing and swimming. The views of the bay are fantastic.

Nice beach to just sit down and listen to the ocean and people watch, can be busy with people but what do you expect when it's a tourist attraction.

Fun beach. Clean. Close to boardwalk and pier so if you are in the need of anything everything is a walk away.

We brought our 9 month old here for his first beach experience. He had a blast! He would like to add that the sand tastes great. It was windy but still nice and warm. We saw seals swimming right up by the beach. I would highly recommend getting up before sunrise to walk the beach and watch the sun come... More

Fun beach but a lot of trash. Kids had a blast swimming and enjoying the fun crowds. Boardwalk is great too.

The main beach of Santa Cruz is very nice as it can be reached by foot from many of the many nearby hotels/Motels. The sand is very fine and comfortable to walk on. If you don't like to much noise, avoid the Boardwalk area. You will find everything that makes a beach visit comfortable, i.e. Restrooms, washroom, lifeguard, etc.
