UCSC is a world leader in many scientific fields such as astronomy, astrophysics, mathematics, bioengineering, computer sciences, ect. The campus is in a large hilly redwood forest wth views of the ocean and the climate is temperate. Please keep this place secret. Housing is expensive. San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Carmel are not far.

Came to see the arboretum, very disapointed. We have been to San Louis Obispo and Berkley and both were much better. I think the drrught had a lot to do with how things looked. The space is huge, many acres, needed more care and water. The gift shop was of great interest, they had many wonderful items made by local... More

The outdoor theatre is really pretty. We watched Macbeth under the stars. Good production, well-organised. Sandwiches etc available. We took a picnic blanket but probably more comfortable to get a seat. Lovely evening.

Expansive open space and beautiful views of the ocean and redwoods. I understand that there's some decent edjakaten that goes on there too.

Visited on a summer sunday it was very quiet on the campus. Not a soul to be seen. Very green and expansive so close to Santa Cruz town. Everywhere signs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UCSC.

My daugther was excepted to UC Santa Cruz. We are very proud of her. We were there for Orientation this month. The staff and the students were very polite and happy. They were very easy going. The campus is very clean and it's surrounded by redwood trees. The dorms are overlooking at the ocean. We are sure pleased of what... More

I visited as part of a parent orientation group since my daughter's picked this school to spend her 4 year college experience at and I was not disappointed. Beautiful campus, million-dollar views from some of the dorm-rooms!! Excellent faculty, super friendly and the overall atmosphere is very laid-back and relaxed. Walking in the wooded areas around the campus is like... More

This campus is amazing! I spent there my last six months and I loved every single part! It is in the middle of nature: redwoods all around you and ocean as panorama. Lots of animals: squirrels and deers; in addition facilities are great. Atmosphere is chill and mellow. It is a great place to see and live.
