Beautiful weather, warm breeze, not too crowded. A must see if visiting SB. Close to State street and the harbor.
The park is lovely, but If you're willing to walk down the 60 steps, the beach is really nice. I enjoy not only a nice beach but the rocks that give you a place to lay out towels, climb around, etc. Also not too crowded.
Went down to Santa Barbara for the long weekend and drove into Shoreline Park a little before noon. It was beautiful weather and the beach was not too crowded. The shoreline drive had artists selling paintings and other artifacts and atmosphere was like a small carnival. We walked all the way up to Stearn's Wharf and then into State Street....

Great to just stroll along the beachside path from the beach volleyball courts all the way to Stearns Wharf, past the harbour and beyond. Great views to take in.
Its a great highly used local amenity, full of joggers, walkers, skateboarders, roller skaters, etc, also hang gliders landing on the beach!.
One of our lasting images was one night walking...

Go, walk, look! This is a great park with lots of places to sit and look at the ocean, sailboats, paddle boarders, kite boarders and nature. There are lots of picnic tables and walking paths.
I you are a tourist, make sure not to miss this attraction. If you are a local, it is a great place to walk and enjoy the ocean view.
Start your hike "up-top" on the bluffs above the ocean and follow the paved paths down to the beachfront, harbor, pier and shops. A wonderful stroll that presents the very best views that Santa Barbara affords. I took well over 100 photos on my two-mile walk. Just bear in mind: if you descend down to the beach, you must return...

This is a nice area to take a walk, have a picnic, or stroll by the ocean. There are walking and biking paths, but it is also right by a busy road. The visitor's center (and parking) are close by, and the pier is right there as well.
Separate pedestrian and bike paths ... gorgeous beach ... picnic areas with grills. What's not to like?
