Fun to see a movie or concert here. Interior dramatic, Spanish style balconies all around, stars in the "sky." Very well preserved movie palace.
The Arlington is a spacious venue for movie going or to see a live performance or performer. It is not a state-of-the-art fancy theatre, but comfortable. The only problem is that State St. has very little parking. But, during the SBIFF, many actors receiving an award from the Film Festival will get them at the Arlington.
They have both movies and live performance here, I've only been here for movies. This huge single screen theatre is set up like a street in a Mexican village with facades of homes to either side. It feels like seeing a movie at sunset as the lights fade over the village. It is a beautiful historic building in the heart... More
This is a very unique theater experience, Your inside but feel like your are outside. A must for kids to what their fav movies. And very cozy for couple for those love story. It is a historic build and lots of good dining just across the street. Parking tip, try to park in front across the street., you can also... More
I have gone to this theatre for many year and it is always a pleasure to go to theatre's like these old school theatre's. The only trouble is that now it is open for special viewings and not movies any more.
A wonderful place - historic, with a unique atmosphere, harkening back to a glamorous past yet modernized for a wonderful cinema experience. If there's a movie I'm at all interested in, I check to see if it's playing at the Arlington. We like going up to the balcony, but to see a movie as you would in a modern theater,... More
Try to take a look inside the theater. The side walls looks like a small mexican village. Originally one of the Fox Theater chain it retains its initial charm. However, if you are viewing a movie there you must be in the first 1/3 of the seats.
This place was built back when people referred to theaters as "palaces." Along the side walls of the theater there is a fake facade of a Mexican village with subtle back lighting. The ceiling is adorned with twinkling stars when the lights are low. It is a very large theater with a huge screen for movies and a good sized... More
I hadn't seen in movie in the Arlington in about 25 years. It's still absolutely beautiful. If you are expecting chairs that recline, this isn't the place for you. The prices for the movie and food from the snack bar are reasonable. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. Oh yeah, I thought the movie was awful, but... More
Imagine watching a 21st century special effects blockbuster in the square of an 18th century Spanish village. Then experience it at the Arlington. Growing up in SB, movies and concerts at the Arlington were always a wonder....they still are today. I don't care what is going on there, buy a ticket! Even if the movie or show is a bomb,... More
