Gainey offers a lovely tasting room, it is very interesting to walk around here. Perhaps even more interesting to take a walk outside and sample the grapes straight from the grapevine! When we visited, they were setting up for a wedding here, and it looked lovely. But at the end of the day, Gainey wines were not my favorite although... More

I love Gainey and have brought a few of my friends to taste wine there. Excellent wines, gorgeous tasting room/facility and absolutely beautiful "backyard" overlooking the vineyard. You can sit at one of the picnic tables under the big tree, sip wine and enjoy the scenery: green grass lawn, endless rows of vines and mountains in the distance. Beautiful!

Loved Gainey Winery. Our wine guide was friendly and knowledgeable, not at all pushy. The wine tasting experience was not rushed, and was generous with the wine. Nice place, very friendly staff. Worth visiting.

We've visited so many vineyards and wine tasting rooms over hte past 8 years and this is the one we stayed a member of their wine club the longest. Simple consistency of fine wine, never disappoints. Especially the Pinot Noirs throughout the years. In addition to great tasting wines and excellent treatment by the staff, the grounds of the vineyard... More

We stopped by this winery that was recommended by a friend, we were pleasantly surprised. We had a wine tasting and enjoyed the patio area. The wines were a little pricey if you did not buy into the wine club, but overall a nice place for a quick stop. You could bring a few snacks or lunch and have a... More

As part of a 50th birthday extravaganza, Gainey was one of the stops we made making our way back down from Napa. Although I was a little surprised how dark the tasting room was (it was hard to really see the color and viscosity), the staff managed to sell the wines by description alone. Noreen (loved her!!!) and Melissa (who... More

This is my favorite picnic spot in the wineries. We live in Santa Barbara, 25 miles away from Gainey, and we take our out-of-town guests to this winery or Sunstone Winery (second best because of the dust) every time we have a sunny day. Firestone used to be second best, but we discovered about 2012 that they had removed their... More

This winery is beautiful. I love the barrel room and back rooms that are now used for tasting. This time there was more merchandise set up which took away from the feel and charm that it previously had. I've been tasting here since 2004. It's usually the first stop because after driving up from OC, I'm ready to hit a... More

An absolute must is the merlot. The service was OK and I didn't feel like the people serving didn't stand out. The merlot was one of the best I've ever had. Great body and full flavored. I feel like the set up for the tasting could have been better but the atmosphere was really nice
