We enjoyed the scenic drive...takes about an hour. Worth it. You start at the visitors center by the beach. You drive along the coast then through Hope Ranch. STUNNING homes and views. Wow! The route takes you through the Riveria and Montecito and back to the beach. Gives a great perspective on the area. Views are spectacular. Houses and amazing.... More

Arguably the most extensive stretch of CA's coastline one can enjoy without ever leaving your car. From the oil derricks off shore, lined up like a row of soldiers one after another to the distant Channel Islands to the coastal range and miles and miles of curving white beaches this is a great drive. Hint; Take the drive at the... More

We drove from LA along the PCH to Santa Barbara, beautiful. Houses line parts of the PCH so you can't see the water but there are various spots to see the beauty. Lots of places to stop and walk along the beach. Once you arrive in Santa Barbara, be sure to spend some time checking out the beautiful architecture.

Great views of the Pacific Ocean and beaches to visit. Lots of trees and glimpses of all kinds of homes along the way.Use this google map as your guide https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zhQ13I4PkLug.k2v3Y5M6WXR8 This beach has fantastic views with the Channel Islands as the back drop. It is easily accessible, although the parking can be a problem on weekends and holidays. Spend some... More

We went up the mountain to see spectacular views surrounding Santa Barbara. It's a very winding road and not for the weak of stomach. It's amazing to see the homes that are built on part of it. Just do it! (and take a little Dramamine before you go!)

If you only have a few hours in Santa Barbara, this is what we did; 1) Mission Santa Barbara - impressive building from the outside with a nice lawn/planted area to the front. You can do tours, or just a self-guided tour for $8 which apparently would take about 45mins to see the courtyard gardens, mausoleum, cemetery, inside the church... More

Really beautiful sea views. It is worth having a break somewhere on your way. We had a picnic by the seaside. Definitely the best route to Santa Barbara.
